that's a good idea Nora, but thankfully i'm getting used to not wearing it. I have realised how much i fiddled with it though as the ring i'm wearing is tighter so doesn't come of so easily so it's making me notice my fiddling habits.

    Hello All, how is everyone?

Sorry I've been MIA. My eldest doggie passed away and I just couldn't face typing the words. It still hurts.

Money stuff, I have put extra to Goliath from Quidco and interest from my pension money which my last company gave me back. Its not a lot extra to Goliath but its something. As for Beast I have been spending on it, just day to day stuff which is getting paid off as I go. Might sound nuts but if it boosts my cashback (and I pay it off as I go) then great.

Bought a couple more xmas pressies. Boots is selling off Lee Stafford perfume for £3.04 (strange price!), which normally sells for around £12. So I got a few.

OH is getting eye surgery. He's really nervous. Waiting to hear when it will be. I also have the hospital on friday. I had a nasty fright yesterday, a wasp just brushed my arm whilst OH and I were out shopping. The stinger wasn't in my arm but my arm was bright red then the colour drained out my face and the veins started to rise the surface of my face, arms, body and legs. I felt sick and I couldn't stop coughing. I felt better once I'd taken an anti-histamine but I am still feeling not quite myself today.

Still getting used to the new job, its a lot to learn and until I get my head round it all I don't think I'll like it. The commute is really taking it out of me though (long 11-12 hour days) and the walk (1 mile) from the office to the train station is killing my right leg (where I had my op), I know overall its doing my good by getting me fitter but I would have thought I would have lost more weight by now rather than just a few pounds. I struggle to walk both ways (if I'm at the main office, if its the satellite office this is a walk of half a mile which is completely flat unlike the other which is on a really steep hill) so I am still getting bus or taxi one way. I know this probably seems a waste but my leg (scar) burns even after walking this one way.

    hi Uni
sending hugs about your dog, we lost one of our guinea pigs last week and i know how hard it hits you.

I've not even started thinking about christmas pressies, which isn't like me as i'm usually finished by now. Doesn't help that i had to raid the christmas fund to help pay the builder for the bathroom.

You do what is right for you when it comes to working and getting there and back, i think you do well to even contemplate walking when you're having trouble with your leg so don't feel guilty about using transport one way.

    Thanks LT.

I'm knackered today. It took me until lunchtime to wake up properly. Just a quick hello tonight then I'm off to bed. Went into nearest branch of my bank after work to pay some money in and they were trying to sell me a loan to pay off cc. They got VERY pushy with it. Stood my ground. Yes I would like to pay it off faster but at the moment I can't but I don't like strong arm tactics after all if I am paying the minimum or slightly more they can't complain can they as they are making money off me with interest?

  • Evening Uni.

Big hugs on the loss of your hound - take it easy for a while if you can.

In fact, that's my general position on everything you're going through right now. You're a strong and fab lady, so don't be so hard on yourself for doing things like getting transport one way etc. It's all about taking care of yourself.

This isn't the first time I have heard recently about banks trying to push people into getting loans that they don't want, and being very pushy about it.

Have you thought about massaging the scar with that oil stuff you can get for scars. Sorry I can't think of the name for it.

Called Bio Oil. Was just thinking if the scar was more flexible, it might not burn so much...?

I hope the OH eye op goes well. And your appointment too.

Ref the wasp sting. You may want to get tested to see if your allergic. Your reaction is exactly what happens to my DS if he eats peanuts. If you are then you will need to carry an epipen around with you, so try and make the time to do this.

Sorry to hear about your dog. It is tough when they leave us isn't it.

Lots of ((((hugs)))) about losing your dog Unix...such a sad time. I still find myself thinking about the first dog I grew up with (an alsation). I was 8 when she had to be put down (she bit my lil'sis)...that was over 40 years ago, but I still think fondly of her.

I agree with the other comments...be kind to yourself and do what is best for you at the time.

    Take care xx

Hi All, how is everyone? Sorry not been about but I am up at 5:30 for work and not home till about 6:30pm so I'm usually shattered.

Off today as I had the hospital, they weren't much help tbh. Basically more tests and on to a waiting list for yet another mri which I have to go to another hospital for as my local one shut the space they used for one (hired) to expand drug treatment and other wards. I was a completely wuss when they took blood and really thought I was going to pass out. :(

I typed loads more but lost it.

Paid an extra £30 to Goliath and paid off what I used this week on Beast (as I explained before using this to get more cashback). Lots of YS bargains in Mr M's this week and my freezer is creaking at the seams. I'll need to start using some it.

  • what I typed yesterday was that OH's agency has gone into liquidation. So we're wondering if he'll get paid next week (he gets paid a week in arrears) and is owed for holidays etc .... probably in total about £900. Will we be able to get this back from the insolvency practitioners that have been appointed?

OH and I went for a burger yesterday once we'd been to the hospital. We brought one back for SS (who was in his room), OH called him down. SS said "Its cold, bin it", now we'd got his before we left and the burger place is only 5 minutes from the house so it was still warm and edible and besides as it was a beefburger surely it could have been microwaved (he eats takeaway thats delivered from further away so whats the difference?)? But no, SS stormed off up the stairs and OH lost his temper with him told him he was ungrateful and didn't care about anyone else or anyone else's stuff. He stayed out of the way last night and only went down to watch tv once I'd gone to bed. I didn't hear him but stuff had been moved (including the remote control) in the living room. I went to get OH from work this morning and when we got back SS had gone out. He knows he's in the wrong. He ordered a film 6 weeks ago and I got left with the bill. He's been asked again and again to pay up. OH says enough is enough, whether its £2 or £20 he's ordered why should OH and I get the bill?

Nice to be able to catch up today. Off for a pootle round everyone's diaries to see whats been happening.
