You fill in the back and ask to be taken to court. Then take the plate in to court to show the magistrates. If you are right, you will win. If you are wrong, expect a hefty set of costs on top of the fine. Simples!

If you do this go, on the bus, cos if you take your plates into court you'll have none on your car and you'll get nicked...:D

Thats a load of old carp, rubbish, falsehood, fib and incorrect info. :p:D

The following is from the DVLA website...

When replacing your number plate you should make sure that the correct material has been used to manufacture the plate. It should be made from a reflective material. Front number plates must display black characters on a white background and rear number plate must display black characters on a yellow background.
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is not aware of any self-adhesive number plates that meet the British Standard requirements.
Characters on a number plate can be 3D, providing they meet all the other requirements, but honeycomb or other background patterns are not allowed.
Also, the characters on a number plate need to be a standard height and width.

Your number plate should show the correct:
    • character height - 79 millimetres
    • character width - 50 millimetres (except the figure 1 or letter I)
    • character stroke - 14 millimetres
    • space between characters - 11 millimetres
    • space between groups - 33 millimetres
    • top, bottom and side margins - minimum 11 millimetres
    • space between vertical lines - 19 millimetres

I goes a whole lot deeper than that tho', honey comb/shadow/ 3d effects outlawed.

Obviousely only a very few type faces allowed.

Only one emblem allowed, (never could understand that one), and again restricted range.

Under text or signature is also limited, etc etc etc

With regard to the use of stick on plates, theres another quirky situation. The number plate by law has to be fixed to the 1st available vertical surface on the car, same front and rear.

There are specialist cars that do not have such a position on which to fix a plate, hence in the case of Westfields, Lotus 7s and such like it is common to have a stick on plate accross the bonnet to the front.
Very few infact none at all club members had had an issue with the police with this, hopefully an example of the law being reasonable under the circumstances where a none standard plate is NOT being used to deceive, which is what this farce is all about anyway, ANPR ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

No it's not, it doesn't comply to the regs so it's not a number plate. The fact the road is closed means it don't need one.;)

So it's a show plate then.

Perfectly legal when used off the public highway
