OP this situation has built up over the years & by not putting your foot down earlier you have contributed to it.

I think you need to have a really good talk with your OH & set some basic ground rules.
The situation will just continue if you don't deal with it properly.

    Good luck.

That isn't true.. current WHO recommendations say bf up to the age of 2 has lots of benefits for the child and the mum.. that is a judgement of the OP's parenting and not what is up for discussion.
That's fine pigpen when all is tranquil and the mother has support.
Seems though that linseykim isn't getting support from anyone, not her in laws anyway and her H needs to support her decisions, not his parent's.

She said herself that her child demands to be fed and gets fractious otherwise. The good in bf has been done and well done her.
OP did put the bf in her post as an issue in the quandry, so I see it as relevant, certainly not a slight on her parenting.

Some of us simply wondered why the OP didn't contact the OH's family to double check on the actual dates - or whether or not there would actually be a party - before committing herself to another event in June. It would have saved a lot of stress.

Works both ways. why didnt family contact OP with the date as they seem to have contacted other people a month earlier!
