    But you really need to.consider getting rid of the Picanto, if it doesn't do what you need it to do then get rid.

    For 305 days of the year it does exactly what I need, for 60 it doesn't.

    The only Pug 405/406 i would recomend would be a 1.9dt, Glx model also had an intercooler, don't buy a Hdi 406 or the 2.1, stick to the 1.9

    I don't really "do" diesel - and I'm not going to get a 1.9 DT for shed money up here anyway. Are the petrols lemons?

    They are certainly not as nice as the diesels.

    Don't forget that the XUD engine was developed with investment and subsidy from the French.government.

    It is so superior to the other diesel engines from the 70's.

    There is nothing wrong with the petrols but they are more problematic than the diesels.

    Don't try to make it perfect and sort its problems, it is a shed, minimal maintenance only.

    I can guarantee that the aircon is kanckered in that 405, circuit board in the dash gives up the ghost, but if it was petrol i wouldn't give more than £250 in all honesty. Don't forget that the trader has a bigger mark up on cheap stuff than on the expensive stuff, at least on a percentage basis.

    If he invests £10k in stock with cheapies there is certainly £6/7 k potential profit there. £10k in newer cars might only have a potential profit of £3/4k.

    I advise you drive to some Auctions in the NE of England, you could probably get that 405 for under £150.

    Anyway, scrap cars are worth a minimum of £150 - so I don't know in what world you're buying MOTed cars including auction fees for £150, but it ain't this one.

    SMA charge £25 to send off the V5!

    Not my world either.
    £400 minimum for anything with a ticket. £500 upwards if it starts as well.

    :rotfl::D

    405 is up for £595 with MOT til Jan
    Demio is £695 with MOT til May 2012

    Neither have tax, but that might be negotiable - both are in the "old" tax bands - £118.25 and £71.50 respectively I think for 6m
