    Hi,

It took me 2 months but i thought it would take much longer

(i blame OH!!! - We're due 1st Jan now lol)

It doesnt matter HOW long you have been on the pill - It's how long the pill takes to leave your system, for your hormones to return to normal.

Your building yourself up for disappointment by looking for the tiniest bit of pregnancy symptoms - I know its difficult but just relax and dont worry about it. HTH x

I was on Cilest for about 17 years, stopped last February and started charting my temperature and using ovulation sticks - I concieved on 9th May and had a textbook pregnancy. We weren't actually trying, had sex about 3 days before my period was due, apparently the male sperm can last up to 5 days, female not as long - we had a boy so that supports that theory!

    Really good luck :) xx

    Good morning everyone,

Just been reading through everyones comments on the way to work, can't thank you all enough for your contributions to the thread.

Sk-so sorry to hear of the problems you and your oh have had, I am 27 and always have thought age was on my side but as you said it could happen to anyone, I am feeling much more relaxed now about the whole thing in regards to time frames but I think if it doesn't happen in 12 months then maybe I will get checked out with OH. Thank you for sharing your experience on here, I know its not always an easy topic for people to open up about when they have had struggles. I wish you lots of luck honey and to everyone else that are ttc xx

  • With my daughter i came of microgynon after 5 yrs and it took 18 months. We gave up and concentrated on our wedding, and the week after the wedding i found out i was pg-my dress had felt tight on the day lol!
With my son it took a couple of months.
My cousin and her husband went thru ivf and after so many failed attempts gave up and looked into adoption. They were preparing for their preliminary meetings when they found out she was pg! With their 2nd dd it was a month after my cousin had a miscarriage xx

I stopped the pill in July (after 18 months on it) and thought we would just see what happens. My cycles were irregular and long. By December when nothing happened, I decided to get the clearblue fertility monitor to boost my chances. I got pregnant in February! I would def rec you get the monitor or ovulation strips at least to pin point your ovulation. I wished I had done this as soon as I came off the pill!

Hi brownbabygirl-I am deffo considering that if I don't get any good news this month...so far I was just using the on-line calculators to map when I am ovulating, but to be honest it's not accurate as 1) I've only just come off the pill and may not be ovulating this month and 2) it's only an indication of when I may be.

    TC xx

I was on Microgynon for about 4 years, then Cilest (sp?) for about 6-7 months, had a lot of issues with it so stopped using it and went to condoms for a month and then we decided to try! Stopped using contraception in the March and fell pregnant in October @ age 25. Didnt do anything specific, didnt use those ovulation thingies, just waited every month and once I stopped stressing about it it happened. :) Good luck to you x
