I'm in the same position as you OP....first month of the pill but I was on it 11 years. I obviously don't know when I'm due on as your cycle on the pill isn't necessarily what it would be naturally but going by when I would have been expecting it when on the pill I'm a week late! I think everyone is different though so it doesn't really matter how long it took other people!

galvanizersbaby-so sorry to hear of the problems you have previously had, but I am truely happy that you have conceived again, congrats!

I also heard it was best to wait a few months before ttc as apparently that it does give a more accurate date, but I figured that with all this new found technology they probably would be able to tell (and I am impatient) :D

Don't want to depress you, but I stopped cilest nearly 3 years ago...still ttc...everyone commenting so far has had such quick conceptions & I thought for balance you should be aware of the other possibility. After a long time of being on the pill I'd been taught that I'd drop preggers at the drop of a hat (miss one pill & need extra precautions etc) so I found it hard to get my head round that fact that up to a year is totally normal...as is 'falling' the first month. There is no way of knowing what will happen for you - so get healthy (good food, folic acid supplements, no caffeine, no alcohol) & get 'jiggy'!
    Good Luck!

I know the others all conceived rather quickly but be prepared for it to go the other way like me. It took me 18 months after coming of Cilest to conceive. I was on the verge of using some form of contraception again for a few months (because I had started to get so disappointed when my period turned up and vowed I would stop ttc if that happened) and found out I was pregnant.

It will happen it might be super fast like some or it could be a slow road like me; whatever road it is enjoy the journey ;) and try not to stress because that doesn't help either.

I would like to hear your stories if possible on if you were on the pill how long did it take for you to fall pregnant and what symptoms you had?

Gosh, I was on microgynon for... about 10 years and I fell pregnant about 5 or 6 months after my last pill. I think the main "symptom" was an obsessive compulsion to use a pregnancy test nearly every day! :p Well, I can't remember exactly. But I had a "feeling" that I might be pregnant the day I tested positive. I was nauseous but not until much further on in the pregnancy. Really, nothing stands out for me as an early symptom. Not been back on the pill yet - second baby was even faster to conceive. Alas, I cannot recall the exact dates but at least a couple of months faster.

I was on the pill for 15 years, came off it in April '10 and conceived in December (I'm 32).

We were mapping my periods / ovulation but it wasn't working, then I was told by a "psychic" that it would take longer than i'd thought and to be patient....so we stopped mapping. Then BINGO!!

    Good luck honey :) x

Just to warn you, it might take a while for your cycle to get back to normal.

I came off the pill (Microgynon) last June due to having 2 week withdrawal bleeds which left me shattered - nice. I had a period at the end of July, and then nothing at all for a good 6 months.

However, once ovulation did kick back in it obviously kicked in good and proper as we were only a bit... ahem... lax with barrier contraception a couple of times and I fell pregnant!

I would say try and wait until your periods are a little more regular though - it was a nightmare trying to date my pregnancy as going by the date of my last period I was ready to drop, but my tummy proved I was only in the very early stages. In fact, the only reason I'd done a test at all was because I was being referred for further tests to check there wasn't another reason for no periods (eg polycystic ovaries) and they required it!
