How long did it take you to conceive after stopping the pill?

Hi OP, I'd just like to wish you luck and echo what gizmogiz says, it's lovely that so many people get pregnant so fast but it really can be soul destroying when you are trying for months on end with no joy, even if you're doing everything correctly and there is no apparant issue. Easier said than done I know, but try not to let it take over your life.

I was on Cilest too (still am!) from 17. I finished a pack at the beginning of Jan and got pregnant with DD1 during our 'practice run' in early Feb!
When trying for baby number 2 it was 5 months after coming off the pill, but I lost my twins at 10 weeks in the October. I wanted to try again soon and conceived DD2 in the January on our 1st go.
So for me it was quick both times, as 5 months isn't very long at all really, although it felt like it after falling pg with DD1 instantly! Hopefully you won't be waiting too long, but these things happen when they're ready toExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

I got pg at 27 after being on the pill for 10 years as soon as I came off the pill (microgynon).
Just come off cerazette after about 6 months, depo injection for about 8 months prior to that.
We are not TTC ATM just decided after having two weeks off the pill after an operation that we would see what happened
Good look to all TTC.0 -
I was on Cilest and it took 14 months to conceive DD1 (got pregnant first month using Ovulation Tests) I was 34 when I got pregnant first time, second time I wasn't on the Pill, found out I was pregnant with DD2 when DD1 was 4 months old.
With DD3 I had stopped the Pill 3 months before I got pregnant, I also used ovulation tests this time too, I was 38.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
I've been on the pill for the last 18 years and only stopped twice to have my children. Both times i conceived the first month of trying.
I appreciate that I was very lucky. Good luck to you too! x0 -
I came off the pill and we decided that after 3 months (to give a bit of time for the pill to get out of my system) we would start trying for a baby.
In the end I was off it for 2 years and 4 months before finally falling pregnant a few weeks ago. The only thing we did different the month we concieved was I drank a glass of grapefruit juice every morning and dh drank a glass of tomato juice. Its meant to help, probably an old wives tale, but hey presto it worked.
I hope it all happens much quicker for you, lots of luck OP.0 -
I was on Dianette for 6 years. Came off June 2001, didn't conceive until December 2003.
I wish you all the best, but be prepared for the long haul. If it happens quicker than great, but I really feel for any couple who has the emotional rollercoaster OH and I had for 2.5 years when it didn't happen in our timing.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Honey, I really don't want to burst your bubble but it has nothing to do with how long you were on the pill.
I was on the pill/contraception for 7 years and came off 1 year before we got married. We are now 22 months after our wedding (so almost 3 years off contraception) and we are about to embark on our first IVF.
Sadly we have male factor and problems with my ovaries that we could never have imagined. I was 28 when we stopped contraception and we never for one second thought we wouldn't be able to conceive. We were both young and healthy and had no reason to suspect otherwise.
I know you'll discount this as "it couldn't possibly happen to you" but if we could have been spared the years of hope I wish we could.
Good luck to you but please, spare a thought for the fact it might not happen immediately.
SK xAfter 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j
And a VERY surprise miracle in March 2017!0
