I was off it for a year before i got pregnant but think its more down to timing than the pill.

I was on the pill (microgynon) for 10+ years. I stopped taking mine at the end of March. Not pg yet but keeping my fingers crossed.
Some people get lucky and it happens within a month or so and some it takes longer.
The main thing is not to get stressed about it (if you find out how to do that please let me know! ;) ) as stress levels can affect your chances of conceiving.
You should join the TTC thread that's on this board. You will find lots of lovely ladies with lots of good advice and support! :)

    Wishing you good luck.

    xx

I thought for balance you should be aware of the other possibility. After a long time of being on the pill I'd been taught that I'd drop preggers at the drop of a hat (miss one pill & need extra precautions etc) so I found it hard to get my head round that fact that up to a year is totally normal.

Yeah I too thought that as soon as I stopped taking pill I would end up pg but sadly it isn't that easy for some people! I stopped taking Yasmin in May 10 and am still TTC now.

I hope you don't take long.....once you've decided to TTC you just want to get pg straight away & the heartbreak of finding it hasn't worked each month gets unbearable sometimes :(

I honestly never had any clue how hard conception could be:o

Good luck & come and join us on the TTC thread....its good to see how other people are getting on.

I came off the pill (Microgynon) last June due to having 2 week withdrawal bleeds which left me shattered - nice. I had a period at the end of July, and then nothing at all for a good 6 months.

This can vary from person to person also, as I too was on Microgynon (for about 15 years!), came off it about 4 months ago and have had 3 complete cycles since then. One was 29 days and the other two have been 27 days.

It really is different for everyone and, unfortunately, no one can tell you what will happen for you.

Good luck with TTC'ing though! :D

Gizmogiz-I never ever thought I would feel this desperate when TTC, and it's only been a month! But onwards and upwards as they say xx

Yeah - well it only gets worse! I started off really excited & very naive about ttc but as time has passed i started to get sad and jealous of other pg people around me (esp those who have got pg by accident!!)

People who get pg quickly just don't have any idea how it feels to go through this rollercoaster journey so as I say I really hope you don't have to.

That's exactly how I was feeling and decided to have a break from TTC, I don't know if it is connected but that is the month I conceived.
