  • Oh No, not Lidl's stollen! It's irresistible!
Lidl seems to stock all sorts of rather exotic things so go there and shop - but be strong or you will end up buying all sorts of fancy pants things and go over budget like what I do!

    Hi,

Is there a Lidl/Aldi thread on MSE with advice on what is good to buy and what to avoid?

    Cheers,

    Stollen,

There's a Delia recipe which is pretty good and saves buying the stuff!

Lidl is a amazing shop, i have started shopping there ever since i found this site, and have over halfed my shopping bill and eat alot beter.
For any of you who have never look on it try the old style savings board on here, loads of hints and tips for cheaper shopping and cooking and the old stylers on there are a bank of knowledge.

Any one who has turned there nose up at shops such as netto/aldi/lidl, either hasnt tried them or really isnt commited to become detb free, as shopping there has saved me over £200 a month.
Which means more money to throw at my debts.

    Hi

I have also been converted. Have over the last 10 years gone to Tesco and spent betweent £55.00 - £75.00. Got home and always thought what have I bought. About 1 year ago we started going into Lidl first then onto Tesco and todate still do the same. Went shopping last week, £29.00 in Lidl ( got a load full of stuff ) then went onto Tesco and spent £15.00. I would always knock Lidl but I think it's great. What surprises me it's always packed out and you always see the mercedes and bmw's pull up

Tesco and Morrisons are big greedy cats and it's only now realised it.

    Happy shopping

Aldi is a German brand so they do some things very well like the meats are sometimes half the price of tesco and asda. The beer is great as is the wine. Christmas chocolates and Stollen are very cheap and excellent quality. I go in Aldi first for provisions which usually comes to about £30 and then on to Asda for a small shop of branded stuff the kids can't do without!! My food bill has halved!!!!I just wish I had found it years ago:rolleyes:
