I am not keen on natural yoghurt it has a kind of sharp taste.
However, I have been buying the large tubs of Greek Style yoghurt from Tesco and putting the tiniest bit of mint sauce in it. I know there is sugar in mint sauce but you are allowed vinegar and mint so it can't be too bad.
It makes it just like the yog sauce you get with an indian takeaway, the bit you get for your starter etc.
I have been having this most days on whatever meat I have been having.
If I had a lot to lose then I would have a go at more recipes but I only have 5lbs to lose now, once that is gone I know that I should be ok keeping most of it off. I only wanted to lose a stone anyway and I am quite active so fingers crossed most of it will stay off.
I made some of the Toffee Muffins (recipe on the minimins site) which were quite small. I think people make on average 8 but I got 12 out of my mixture!
Anyway, I was busy in the garden most of yesterday so kept nipping in for a snack, at the end of the day I had eaten 5 of these muffins!
Weighed myself this morning thinking I must have put some weight on and I had lost 2oz!
This is what I had yesterday:
B - Cup of white tea, slice of Dukan bread covered with lots of cottage cheese, toffee muffin
L - 3 chicken drumsticks (cooked in the microwave), mint yoghurt sauce, toffee muffin
T - As per lunch only because I hadn't taken anything out of the freezer and was really busy
Then I had the best sweet that I have had and will def be having again.
One of the toffee muffins, in a dish, covered with half a tub of Muller Lite Vanilla yoghurt. Tasted lovely.
For anyone who hasn't tried them I should warn you, they are not the same consistency as a normal muffin but very moist, a bit like eating a rum baba.
As I felt quite bloated at the end of the day (suppose it is all of that bran and oats in the muffins), I thought I would have gained weight so 2oz loss was a surprise.
Today is a PV day (on cruise) so I will make sure that I eat lots of veg which is something that I am not used to. I am not a veggie person but, after saying that, I was always a sweet toothed one and have lost the desire to eat choc at the minute, so the veg may grow on me as your tastes change!
You are now allowed lean pork and they have pork medallions on offer in Lidl so I will have one of those later.
Also, you can have very lean bacon and I have some bacon medallions so I am going to have two of those inbetween two slices of dukan bread with nuked tomatoes, can't wait.0 -
Had a lovely breakfast.
Two cups of white coffee, only because coffee helps with my digestive system if you get what I mean.
Then I whisked an egg and added 1tbs of oatbran and half (if that) a capful of Dr Oetker lemon flavouring. Fried it on the highest setting in a non stick pan then spread the entire thing with a quarter of a tub of Muller Lite Vanilla yog, rolled and used the other quarter of the tub to drizzle over the top (have saved the other half for later to have with my toffee muffin).
Lovely!0 -
A few things I have found that have worked for me on this diet.
Muller lite makes me either stall full stop or not lose as much as if I hadn't eaten any.
Crabsticks don't help me lose much weight so I have stopped buying those.
Eating more steak mince def helps me lose more weight.
I have been buying the Low Fat Greek Style yog from Tesco, the large tubs, a few tbs in a bowl, adding a tsp of Splenda and capful of Dr Oetker Vanilla essence to it along with oatbran and it tastes lovely.
By the way I restarted this after a week long holiday were I basically ate junk food and takeaways all week (although didn't drink), put on 5lb whilst away and have lost 9lb this week since coming back last saturday. I haven't felt hungry as I have been eating lots of protein.0 -
I totally agree Margaretclare! I've lost count of the amount of people who have questioned why I am on the dukan and I simply say it's because I want to feel better and look better for myself, but as you say everyone who has mentioned it to me seems to be overweight and perhaps jealous? (my mum has the same problem)! Hey ho as long as we are happy and feeling better that's the main thing - maybe we should start replying ' why are you not dieting, looks like you could lose a few pounds' - could you just imagine their faces :rotfl:0

sb44 I was having a similar problem stalling, so I upped my intake of red meat and lost so much more. I had been sticking more to chicken and turkey but starting buying thin steaks for grilling (not expensive ones) and having poached eggs with it or veg and it really helped.
I must say that I don't think the muller worked as well as the onken fat free yoghurts, with these I seem to eat loads with absolutely no effect.
PS I am now onto stabilisationkinda strange to start with but getting back to 'normal' now. Can go up and down about 2 pounds, but as soon as I have my protein day it drops right back down, so far so good!

I think eating habits in this country are dire but I suppose sometimes (especially here in scotland!) people eat according to the weather, heavy stodge when we are cold etc, and I know for me keeping plenty of fresh fruit in the house for the children costs a lot of money whereas you go into supermarkets and there is always 'junk' on special offer - don't know what the answer is.
Anyway glad you had a good day, we are not quite so hot here today, only about 17c and very windy - good for the washing line though.
Glad the diet is still going well, do you have a target in mind (true weight) or are you just going to see how it goes?0 -
I am not even going to bother telling anyone about the diet.
If people want to lose weight they will find the best way for them of doing it, the thing is a lot of people can't be bothered trying to lose weight.
Just bide your time and think about how many extra years you will be adding to your life by not being too much overweight.0 -
margaretclare wrote: »No, nor me. On the odd occasion I've mentioned it people have referred back to some celeb or other who has been doing it. As if I take any of them as my example!
I don't find it hard to do and DH has been so supportive - he too can see the logic of it. Some people, however, wouldn't be willing to do what he has done - not have a potato in the house and that's only part of it. Some of the so-called 'diets' actually build in a 'treat' - 'you can still have your chocolate'. Well, no.
I think that if you mention it a lot of people will just say "Oh, yeh, it's like Atkins and look what happened to him, he died of a heart attack from obesity!".
Just carry on and smile to yourself, knowing you feel a lot better about yourself than they do.
If you are overweight and are happy with that it is fine but if not, do something about it, this is a really easy solution to lose those excess pounds.0 -
I ordered the recipe book last week and have read this thread with interest. I'm looking forward to loosing weight and getting in shape. Much needed after two indulgent holidays this year.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4
