  • Hey Yorkie.

Just joined MSE after browsing for months!

I'm on Dukan, have lost approx 3 stone in 9 months. It is hard going, especially the first week or so on stage one, but very rewarding very quickly.

Stage one is all about proteins, and the all important miracle food oatbran.

Depends what you like to eat, you must have 1 1/2 table spoons oatbran and 1 1/2 litres of water a day, plus unlimited chicken, beef, seafood, fish, eggs etc

Hope this helps for now :)

I was on the Dukan for a couple of months before Xmas, I lost over a stone easily but since the New Year I've not been following it too rigorously - I haven't stuck to the diet and the weight's not gone back on (so far!). I would like to lose another 10lbs or so, and keep on meaning to go back on it - but haven't got the motivation as yet. I ate a lot of prawns, chicken, eggs, salmon (smoked and roasted in foil), zero fat yoghurts and drank plenty of water (no alcohol!) but I didn't really enjoy all the oatbran. I didn't register with the site (too expensive) but got the book from Amazon, which explains it all in detail.
Hope that helps - good luck!

Was this the diet Kate Middleton was on before the 'Wedding'?

What do do you eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? any snacks in between?

what drinks are allowed besides water?

    ;)

Breakfast - boiled egg, zero fat yoghurts + oatbran, oatbran "porridge"
Lunch - crab sticks (can be yucky!), low fat wafer thin packet ham, tinned tuna, smoked salmon, prawn, sliced chicken, more eggs
Dinner - grilled/roasted chicken, minced beef (spag bog, chilli or whatever - no rice or pasta!), stir frys (I used one-cal spray) food as per lunch
snacks - zero yoghurt, crab stick (can get monotonous!)
Drinks - tea & coffee allowed with skimmed milk, low calorie drinks (I didn't have these), sparkling water

Just started the Dukan last week and I'm loving it! I really like the oatbran porridge for breakfast and the 'pancakes' that you can use it to make are quite nice. You mix 1 egg, 3 tablespoons of oatbran and thenI either use vanilla or fat free yogurt. This gives me my savoury or sweet pancakes. I use strawberry yoghurt and this pancake is great with a cup of tea when you are looking for a sweet taste, the savoury I use instead of bread with eggs (poached or scrambled) or with my meat and veg at my main meal.

I keep cooked meat in the fridge and if I feel hungry I have a wee bit here and there, so far I can't knock it and my mum is also on it with no complaints.

I've only got a 8 pounds to lose so it's not gonna take me long, mum about 2 stone but if you want quick weight loss it's maybe worth a try.

    Good luck x :)
  • I started this Saturday so am in the last attack stage but TBH I am finding it mega hard..although I have lost 3lbs I feel dizzy, light headed & weepy!! I am having a huge sugar come down...I had plain tuna with a boiled egg for lunch but naughtily added a oatcake with quark!! I cant cope...am thinking of slimming world now!!x

charly, make sure you eat plenty, and lots of drinks. I know it is soooo hard to get started but keep with it. My hubby started June last year and he has lost over 6 stone.
We now make Dukan cake in the microwave, have sugar free jelly, fat free vanilla and strawberry yogurt plus rhubarb.
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

I tried it last year and did a 10 days attack period but by the end of it all protein food just tasted so sour to me that I couldn't stand it even with veg that were allowed later :( I missed fruit so much... Maybe I would keep going but after 10 days without cheating I only lost 1kg! :(

However 6 stone sounds really motivating... :) Might give it another go...

Oh no, another diet for me to try! Where do you get the oatbran from? Do they sell it in Tesco/Asda/Sainsbury's or do I get it from the health shop?
