Aliasojo, us fans of decluttering need our vicarious fix what have you got rid of today?:D
And well done on booking the car boot:TI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Shall we put them with the NorthStar Horizon which has festered in my airing cupboard for 11 years, because DH wouldn't get rid of it? It has a BT monitor, I believe! DH thought they might like it at Bletchley Park, but I'm told they already have a couple.Anyway...off the subject of handbags.....I have an old Amiga 4000 computer and a Commodore monitor. It still works perfectly but the only time we use it is to play Nibby Nibbler on it.
I have no idea why I kept it but I kinda feel like I need to. It might be worth money one day? :undecidedSignature removed for peace of mind0 -

OP, maybe you should sell all but one, or all but one of each type (being honest there, not 'this one's black and this is blue so I can keep both'...)
I'm mainly here for this though
:USE THE DARN BAGS!!!!!!!!
When you spring your mortal coil they will go in a charity bag or to the dump..

If my mum left me some Radley handbags, I'd frame them :rotfl:0 -
I downloaded a free sample of the decluttering book, and in the sample it talks about "aspirational objects" which are things we keep to make us feel better about outselves - mostly because they are designer labels and therefore by showing we can afford this lifestyle or by keeping up with the Jones's we are somehow more worthy of being loved.
So there's the book's answer on the Radley handbags straight up - people will love us for who we are, not because we have a Radley handbag or the latest Jimmy Choos .:j Thank God for that, I had the same leather rucksack for years till I replaced it a couple of months ago.:D ( yes, it was with another black rucksack, very functional handbags, don't know why they're not more widespread)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Imo, genuine hoarders (of which I am one
) hoard and collect things simply because they like things, they feel they may need something one day or that it's wrong to let things go to waste etc etc....the type of items collected will usually range from the cheapest item imaginable to the other end of the scale and as expensive as could be afforded.
That reminded me of a blog I read a couple of months ago. It lists different types of hoarders. Or hoarding behaviours anyway because it does say people can be more than one.
Here's a link: http://minimalistpackrat.com/2010/10/31/10-clutter-personality-types/
I'm not sure about all of it but I think it points out different causes of clutter quite nicely.
Under '6. The collector' It says 'Does the idea of losing your collection make you feel like you’d be losing a part of yourself?'0
