The regulars will no doubt remember my thread ages ago about clearing out my loft. You lot were very helpful in kicking my butt and helping me make decisons about my 'stuff'.
I need help again.
As some of you will know, we are having to relocate and I need to clear out loads of 'stuff', partly to gain space and allow us to move without loads of baggage and partly to help raise some money.
I've already decided I'm going to car boot in a couple of weeks, I've got loads of 'bits' suitable for that. But it's my other nice things that I'm struggling with and I need to bounce things off you all again.
For example.... I have several Radley handbags. Some of them are the limited edition ones that I bought just to have, not to actually use. They make me happy and I like them. I don't have a life so I tend to like my 'make me happy' things
:D. I'm aware I don't use them (and probably wont) and could probably get an okay amount for them on eBay........but I like them.
See....if you have collector or hoarding tendancies, you have them for life.
I'm going to have lots of 'stuff' questions over the next wee while. Will you all help me again please? :rotfl:
Oh dear, I'm not going to be any use here whatsoever, I just luuuurve my handbags and couldn't get rid for love nor money They don't eat anything, they don't take up much room but they give so much pleasure.
And imagine how pig sick you'd be if the perfect opportunity came up to use one, OMG, you'd have to buy it all over again.

I used to collect old tins.
But ended up selling lots of them on ebay but just kept one or two becuase they were different.
Be brutal, but.... keep something back if it really means that much to you i'd say.
Heck a year on the declutter is in the loft, i really should get that organised, next year it won't be just me and DS there will be my new husband too, and he has millions of books, he won't sell as they are first editions and stuff from his departed mum.
I think you need a declutter buddy on here to help you stay strong and focused0 -
I could of course store them for you lol. They would be right at home with my hoard. xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0

If you really still love them then keep them as once gone they are gone forever. If you feel that in a couple of years you won't look back and regret it then ebay them.
I am having a dilemma about my classic mini - sell her and help fund a campervan which we would all love as a family but once Little Blue is gone that will be it and I may regret it ten years down the line!
I would never get rid of my Radley bags!0 -

you've already said you really like the bags - for the room that they'd take up I'd say 'keep them'.
Unless you know that if you put them on ebay you'd get enough money to make it worth your while selling them.
For me, it would be a no-brainer - they'd go with me.

Keep them. BUT, make a vow to use them....say, one for a week each month, before resorting to you ''normal'' vehicle for wallet/keys/junk. Make me happy purchases we all do once in a while: but we forget their KEEP ME HAPPY potential. I have a ''main'' winter bag and a ''main'' summer bag, and they are never put away really, but every now and then I pick out the half dozen or so useful items and put them in another bag. then, when I get in tip the occasional bag open over the ''main'' bag.
I hadn't read that the move was on for sure, GOOD LUCK and well done on coming to a decision and facing it so well with a clear out.

Why not use them as the bag to put stuff in them for moving?
Then you will have a "happy" bag and a useful one too

Keep the bags

You can't change a hoarder personality, it's part of what we are, and why should we?
I've got so much Portmeirion Botanic Garden stuff it's crazy, and all the Holly & Ivy plates/dishes/wotnots. But I have loved buying it, loved having it there looking pretty.
If it makes you happy and it's not hurting anyone then do it.
