Hi
I posted the first letter and chq for £10 to Barclays requesting list (or statements) of past six years' charges. I posted the letter on 11 April and still have heard nothing from them. It states in the letter (the template from this site) that they should reply within 40 days.
Can anyone please advice what I should do next - keep waiting or send another letter. If I send another letter what would be the best thing to say?
I used this addrsss:
Barclays Bank
Barclays Data Protection
Radbroke Hall
Knutsford
Cheshire
WA16 9EU
Thanks for your advice.

40 Day deadline, are banks finding it hard ti keep up with the response or are they trying to pull a fast one?
I've got 3 accounts with the Halifax, all have gone over the 40 day period for returning the personal statements etc, although recorded letters were received.(reported to ICO)
Yorkshire bank are sending out letters asking for more time than the 40 days, they say " Due to the high demand"
This is a standard letter with only personal details being added, as statements received over 2 wks ago.
ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) are stating on the web site that due to high demand they might only submit details to banks on a monthly basis.
Info for ref only, but it could help?

Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate your help on this matter.
I sent a letter to Natwest 44 days ago and still havnen't received my statements back (or even acknowledgment for that matter!) - I did send the letter recorded delivery and have checked, and it was delivered and received.
What do I do now? - I have sent a email to Natwest and await a response. Legally though, I thought they had to respond in this time? - do I report them? - if so, to who? - I would really appreciate everyones help as I really want to start claiming my money back. I think they owe me a lot of money!

In january I applied to my bank (nat west) for my previous 6 years statements in order that I may claim unfair bank charges. I duly received a letter stating that they would "shortly" be sending these free of charge. I was still waiting for these up to the start of MAY and having received nothing sent another letter requesting the same. I have recently received an identical reply to the first letter they sent me and to date have still received nothing. HELP what should I do now. I am not in a position to threaten them with court action as I do not have any figures to submit for a claim. Can anyone out there advise me?0

I sent a letter and cheque to Tesco Credit Card (RBS managed) back in March. They cashed the cheque on the 15th so the 40 days were up on the 5th May, still not had anything back so I have sent complaint into Information commision. The funny bit was when one of their people said that in the whole of the RBS they only have one person who deals with this stuff and they were off that day. Didnt realise it was such a small organisation.0

If you want to report them you report them to the Information Commissioner however they are probably in undated like the FO. I think i would try and ring the customer relations department first explain your situation and you never know they might be able to order them for you then and there and maybe refund your charge i have read some banks have done this for other customers.
Numbers to ring are 0800 015 4212 0845 30 30 456LBM - April 2007Claimed back my bank charges from Natwest - £1196Halifax Credit Card Claiming £467.35 Rec £467.35!/Capital One Card Claiming - £523.92/Barclaycard Claiming - £403.58 Rec £403.58/MBNA Claiming - £584.37 Rec£584.37Proud to be dealing with my debtsUpdate: 2009 - Currently claiming £1900 from Natwest0 -

That probably doesn't include all the temporary Eastern European agency staff, on the minimum wage before the agency takes their percentage! The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Hi, has anyone else only received half of their statements that they requested? I obviously asked for last 6 years of data, and got 6 letters in one batch of statements for only the last 3 years.
I have sent a none compliance letter stating that they have failed to supply me with my request in full and that i would be reporting them to the ICO, however, that was 10 days ago, and well outside the 40 day allowance. I'd like some advice as to what course of action i should take now in order to obtain the 3 years of statements that HSBC havn't sent me.
Thankyou.0
