    Hi guys,

Barclaycard have so far taken 60 days and still not provided me with my statements. They also banked the £10 cheque i enclosed after about day 25. Can i get this back seeing they haven't provided the statements within the 40 days?

    Thanks in advance!

you should beable to - you need to contact them again though, and explain you're not happy with the situation.

If they refuse to help, contact the HQ with a complaint or talk to financual obodsman (sp)
Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.

Im sure if you say you are not happy with the situation and are contacting the FO they might refund your £10 as a 'gesture of goodwill' after all they have 40 days to provide this info in accordance with the data protection act. Its worth a go you shouldnt have to pay for something that they havent provided you with within the set timescale.

Its the ICO you complain to, not the FO....

Speak to your local branch, the bank's complaints/customer service department and their head office, I would do this daily to each department/branch until you find someone who will deal with your request for the information/statements.

But please try not to take your frustration out on the person answering the phone :)

Also check if you can download your statements online as you can with Lloyds and HSBC.

  • Please I need a little help on where to go from here. I sent Martins template letter 1 exactly 40 days ago now and i have not recieved anything back form the bank at all. I sent £10.00 cheque which has not been cashed.
I am a little nervous about starting these prodecures as i have not really heard much feed back, how people have got on claiming from Lolyds TSB and also what happens if credit scoring means you are unable to open another bank account??? ex boyfriend got me into a finacial mess and im unable to get a new account with Natwest. Would be so happy for any help and advice.

    Hi folks

Had to report the Halifax to the above person for withholding information. How long does it take to get it sorted?

    Thanks

    Hi,

My bank took exactly 40 days to send me my statements, its probably worth calling to make sure your letter was recieved and is being dealt with. If they claim its lost, cancel the cheque you sent them and send another letter & cheque ASAP by recorded delivery.
As for your bank account, you'll always be able to get a very basic one, cash card only, no overdraft etc I have one with Natwest and its been very good so far, google for natwest step account for details on it - I think the post office do one too

    Good Luck :)

As the ICO is also extremely busy dealing with these complaints they are only sending the complaints to the banks in monthly batches so I would suggest you phone/write again to the bank and tell them that you have put in your complaint and expect your information/statements to be sent out asap.
