hi guys - what are most people doing?
I'm on saver 6 till 30th june.
I need to change soonish, I've read a lot are fixing till at least 30/9/12 - is it worth it?
The cheapest for me is SP direct which works out at £40 less per year currently.0 -
Ive just moved this morning to the fix saver v2 using my online account. Took all of about 5 mins. Only costing me £5 per month more then what Im paying now.Credit card and overdraft at 18. 2 loans and 3 storecards at 20. University education flushed down the toilet through debt at 22. Car finance at 23. Car repossessed at 24. Rock bottom at 25. Learnt my lesson 26-33. Now 34 with a mortgage on an affordable house, a car paid for with cash and a bank account in credit. I learnt the hard way.0

ive gone for EDF FIXED VERSION 2 SEPT 2012.
for me it was second best but backside is covered.
ref SP: does your SP quote include the new promised increases ?
you need to take in this when working out what is best.
BG was best for me but the fixed is £40ish more pa but it wont be going up at all.

I had the same dilemma - just moved to online saver 10 - if prices go crazy I will just pay the cancellation fee and still be quids in. Fixed v2 came out 100 more than online 10In the words of Jerry Maguire "SHOW ME THE MONEY"0 -

thats funny. I am facing the same dilemma. I was on EDF for the past year or so on their Onliine Saver v5 (i think!). Then last month moved to British Gas on their energy smart tarriff.
Last week I got a call from a sales person on EDF pushing the fixed v2 tarriff. According to him (and verified later by me on comparison sites) it works out to be about £40 per year more than my BG tarriff, but at least the backside is covered for a while against price increases.
I then faced a dilemma of whether to get quidco of £20 on this tarriff or go to the salesman directly. I called him back up and explained I wanted him to get his comission but can he get me £20 cashback over the phone? The answer was sadly no, but I thought it was only fair to get the transfer done over the phone and let the salesman get his commision as he did answer quite a few of my questions and was very helpful.0 -
Being lazy I'm only just getting around to switching.
The cheapest price on all comparison sites for me is with Scottish Power and are a good £250 cheaper than EDF standard and fixed v2.
My worry though is is the SP price going to rise in August or is that price after the rises will be implemented. I've searched all sites but no one seems to give this answer. Can of you help please?0 -
i know areas vary in price but i think you should double check your figures, £250 seems a big difference on a house.

What consumption are you basing that £250 saving on? The comp sites are only accurate if you use your annual kWh figs, not monthly DD amounts. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I did kWh on my last quarterly bill, should I do it again on annual? I just presumed it was because the standard tariff was so high and the SP offer is an online saver. (Typical woman, not really got a clue :-)0
