ive now gone for the fixed saver v2.
ive been read my rights LOL by the very helpful lady who has made a date in her diary for me, so as of one week before july 1st she will switch me over.
i suppose if its withdrawn i could still lose it.
im a bit gutted if ive missed out on a box of wine though.0 -
I'm tempted to switch from EDF online saver 6 to EDF fixed saver 2 now but would I be charged the premature cancellation £50 for transferring before the end of the saver 6 contract?
If there was no charge for transferring to a different tariff with the same company, would it make a difference to whether a charge would be applied if I switched via Uswitch/MSE link in the hope of getting a case of wine rather than contacting EDF directly?0 -
no if you change directly, but via uswitch im not sure.I'm tempted to switch from EDF online saver 6 to EDF fixed saver 2 now but would I be charged the premature cancellation £50 for transferring before the end of the saver 6 contract?

i dont see why you would be though and you would have a valid point of argument.
you could of course just wait till the 18th june and with the 12 days cooling off there would be no argument0 -
You won'r get cashbacks (or any other freebies) by just changing tariff-you're not switching supplier. The incentives are there to draw in new customers, and the T&C's will make this clear.
EDF are not going to pay uswitch unless they bring in a new customer-not a tariff switcher. No free lunch, and no free laptop

In the end I decided to stick with EDF and move to the Fixed V2 tariff on 1st July. Made the move by phone today just in case it gets withdrawn.
In my case the absolute cheapest on my usage would have been British Gas (but they have hinted at price increases).
Cheapest at EDF would have been V12 @ £1,255
Fixed V2 was £75 more @ £1,324
So a 6% or more price increase this year and I'm better off overall. Less than 6% or a decrease or an increase later in 2012 and I'll have over-payed. Wait and see I guess...0 -
Can someone Clariy something please, i phoned EDF to see about changing my V6 at the end of june to the V2 deal, i was told by the chap you cant pre-book (my term not his) and to phone back towards the end of the month as i would be switched over onto the V2 deal within 24hrs by the computer if i change today, but i would lose the last month of the cheaper V6 tarrif, can i ask how you managed to to get it delayed to July 1st0

When I asked about charges if I swapped from online V6 to another EDF product I was told there wouldn't be a charge and I could do as soon as I wanted and didn't need to wait until the end of the month.
I swapped to fixed V2 today.0 -
As above; We called up EDF a few days ago and have arranged to move to Fixed rate V2 as of the date the saver v6 ends. There are no penalties and no need for us to call back. Apparently this is the norm if you are keeping the same supplier but just changing deals and the system will sort it all out, at least this is what we were told. We could also do the same for the fixed rate 2014. I'm unsure of why people are being told different :think:0

I just phoned to switch and was told if I switch to the online saver v12 tariff it will become effective from today. If I wait til v6 ends, v12 may have been pulled and, if so, I would not be able to get it. He was very definite about it, and said so twice. No penalty for switching tariff as I am not changing supplier.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

Well it is 3 weeks since this thread started and I still haven't had a letter to notify me.
If I do nothing and I then get billed at the standard rates, would I be able to argue that they had failed to inform me and insist the bill is charged at the v6 tariff?0
