Well it is 3 weeks since this thread started and I still haven't had a letter to notify me.

If I do nothing and I then get billed at the standard rates, would I be able to argue that they had failed to inform me and insist the bill is charged at the v6 tariff?

Don't think so, it was always made clear to me from the beginning (by the operator I spoke to and in writing) that v6 finished on 30/06/2011. The letter is merely a courtesy not a requirement.

I've been trying to get onto the online version 12 for the last 3 weeks. Tried online but computer says no. (After faffing about with the new online account system which wouldn't recognise my password, had to change it twice.) Tried again, it wouldn't let me "at this particular time, please contact us"
Called customer services, very nice girl told me that application had gone through but she would check in the next couple of days to make sure, and would call me to confirm. She did call, told me that application hadn't gone through and to try again in a few days.

Have tried twice since (online) but still no joy. Anyone having problems with this product? I have been with EDF for several years, simply because their CS is very good and I like a person answering the phone after a couple of rings without having to "press 1 for this" and "press 2 for that" etc etc. Had no problems with previous Online Saver, (forget which version) so can't understand what's going on this time.

Not sure what is going on with their computer system but it's very, very slow this morning. I just logged in to enter my meter readings and they have definitely switched me to OSv12 from yesterday.
They have updated their log in and now want more personal information, which I'm not too happy about, and the log in is still more complicated than it needs to be.

Had loads of fun with EDF today - not.

They sent me several emails over the last couple of days asking me to log in and read messages. Unfortunately their website portal declined to register me which had to be sorted by customer services.

When I could finally access my account I found they had switched me to the Fixed V2 tariff immediately (1st June) and not the 1st July I had agreed with the advisor.

I've just had in interesting conversation with another advisor who essentially said that:

    - This is an unforeseen consequence of their 'new system' which can't post-date tariff changes
    - Many other customers are similarly affected
    - I should email a complaint as I am more likely to get a timely response(!)

So email sent. Awaiting response. Goodwill towards EDF pretty much exhausted....

I am going to chance my luck and wait until the end of month before changing tariff.Anybody else thinking the same.

Following today's Scottish Power price rises, you might want to change your mind if you are considering a fixed rate tariff.

(I still haven't been officially notified by EDF, but I am going to enquire about their alternative tariffs).

As tesco9 and joe t point out, SP have taken the lead among the big suppliers in announcing 19% (gas) and 10% (electricity) price hikes, so I've decided to bite the bullet and switch to EDF's Fixed S@ver v2 while it is still available. It's cheaper than the 2014 fix and I don't want to tie myself up that long anyway.

I've also gone for fixed saver v2 today. Online Saver v10 is cheaper but only by about £30 a year for me (Elec only - 6,000 KWh in MANWEB region) so would rather go for the 16 month fix.

The EDF phone menu system asks you to "press 1 if you're calling about our fixed price product" so they probably have lots of people doing the same thing!
