EDF online saver-version 6 ending ???
Comments

Surely it would be date of transfer? The relevant phrase being "change of supplier". You will still be paying EDF up til 30 June I take it.0
-
That indeed would be the sensible and fair interpretation, I agree.
Perhaps I'm being paranoid but I'd hate to get whacked with a £50 charge on my final bill because they were notified of a switch before the "end date" (effectively serving notice) -even when the actual transfer occurs after 1st July.
In the absence of a definitive answer I'm inclined to risk it though...

Can you let us know how you get on please? I'm on this tariff and in the same boat as you!!
Thanks.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

After 145 minutes (!) in the queue I did actually get through to a knowledgeable and pleasant person who confirmed that it is the actual transfer date that matters. So as long as the supply doesn't transfer before the "end date" there should be no penalty (otherwise it is £25 per service).
As an aside, we did chat about available options and the advisor recommended that I thoroughly compare their Fixed V2 (2012) and variable online saver V12 tariffs against the opposition with particular emphasis on unit rates. MSE got a namecheck as a recommendation to go fixed! However, she regretted that she could not offer a retention incentive of any kind and certainly nothing equivalent to 10k nectar points.
Decisions, decisions
Thanks for the input. 0 -
I've just been on to the phone to EDF (phone was answered straight away!) and she recommended either Fixer Saver v2 or Online Saver v12. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, she was very helpful though and e-mailed me a quote with both prices on using last year's useage.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

You know, Ive always had a very quick answer to telephone calls to edf.0

Also in the same boat. This indeterminate switch date is a right nuisance!
Sounds like it would be safest to start shopping around in say early June?0 -
I've just changed to the fixed saver 2 - in my area it compares with the unit price, just a slight hike on the daily standing charge. Uswitch made it the best deal for us and though I hate edf my expereince with them all has been fairly miserable - so I might as well take cheap and miserable!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Not had my letter yet. I wonder if they are doing one region at a time - I am East Midlands.0

Got my letter today. Sick of swapping and switching, and never being quite sure whether I'm being cunningly thrifty or ripped off - but guessing that somebody is making money out of it somewhere. It doesn't seem five minutes since the last switch. I suppose I will wait until the end, and then reassess. I begrudge paying the early termination fee.
I thought the energy watchdog was supposed to be making this process more transparent and less complicated??Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0
