I know this is petty but... it's BOUGHT not BROUGHT!

My biggest bugbear HAS to be people who type your instead of you're. Aaaarggh!! I HATE that!
I also hate it when people put an apostrophe in it's when it should be its (or, reversely, leave it out). It's means IT IS. It's not rocket science!0 -

There's a hot-food van that I see regularly which offers;
Kebabs
Pizza's
Curry's
Pakora's
Can you spot the logic......?0 -
Apostrophe
. Looks like it should be pronounced "apostrowf".
Oh, another one... people who say "pronounciation" instead of pronunciation.
And (relevant to this board) subsidence to rhyme with kid, instead of subs'eye'dence. That woman presenter Lucy on Homes Under the Hammer always does it, drives me potty.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

The one that gets me is the amount of landlords that cannot spell tenent.
Surely you josh? Tenent? What's one of them, then? :rotfl:
My current niggle is "Five items or less". I want to scream "fewer!""If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Another one is 'barter' as in 'I bartered them down' when 'bargained' is meant. There are very few transactions where property is swapped for property or goods these days, so barter does not really apply.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I'm actually a Dyslexic, yet I honesty don't think I do too badly against the whole scheme of things. English definitely isn't my strong suit yet compared to most other people apparently without Dyslexia you wouldn't have noticed since my English isn't noticeably worse than anyone else.
However having a diagnosed difficulty with words etc, It does wind me up when people or "Grammar Nazis" as some like to be know as :P, seem to take it upon themselves to correct other people. I'm not complaining or anythingbut it is annoying when you've taken your time to be correct as you can be, or at least to your ability and still you have someone tutting at you, speaking over you to correct you or crossing out things in something you've written. There is no need for it really :P

My mum brought me up to believe that it was bad manners to correct people's English.
So I don't.0
