I saw an advert on a bus for a taxi company "Needing to get to the airport? We'll get you their."
Shame on the person that wrote it, shame on the company that made up the sign, shame on the bus company for allowing it on their bus, and shame on the driver for taking the bus out that day. I even feel a little bit of shame for not following the bus to the depot and ripping the sign right off the back.
There should be a forum for just such a rant! Sign me up.

This has to be my favourite post. Best I've seen on MSE.

Someone who posts regularly on one of the forums I use regularly types "i's" instead of "is". I think apostrophy errors are quite crazy sometimes. (sometime's?) :D.

It's incredible that the signwriters seem to lack the basic skills required.

Somewhat like an electrician who doesn't know AC from DC, a plumber who can't a compression fitting from a solder ring......

The silly thing is, they write it but they wouldn't say it like that. "I brought a new house".

I always want to ask where they brought it from and where they took it to.

Unfortunately, people DO say it like that. In Stoke-on-Trent, it's incredibly common for people to say brought instead of bought, as well as borrow instead of lend (and lots of others that wind me (a non-Stokie) up on a daily basis

"I done it" instead of "I did it" and variations on the theme.
