also order a shower to be delived to the store as it was out of stock, what will happen here???
help, its a lot of money that i cannot afford to lose!

you won't get a refund and as the shower is on a customer order you won't recieve the goods either at the moment.
Not sure about claiming refunds from the actual visa debit card company tho

My local focus(swansea) had closing down sale approx 3months ago, everything was 50%-75% off. Luckily for staff they opened a no frill diy store in its place and kept the staff on. Hopefully this will happen to a few more nationwide. Thanks to op and original op as this was a great grabbit when it was closing here and nearly all stock was gone in a few hrs, so if anyone has one locally to them you really need to be quick.:)

  • Evening all. Just typed a massive message but accidently closed the page!! Winner.

Anyway, for those of you who have paid for your orders and know that your stock is in the store you should get a call in the next 24 hours with good news. All I can say for now.

Unfortunately that is about all I have in the way of updates.

As I have said before please remember none of this is down to the staff. Some of the abuse I have taken today has been awful and most of it I couldnt repeat. Please guys & girls. All the staff are trying to help you.

As posted above, the website has been updated to include:-
    Existing customer orders

Goods for existing customer orders may only be collected from store if the customer:
Has paid for the goods; and
Holds a valid receipt for those goods; and
Has been advised by the store that the goods are in stock and have been reserved for customer collection.
Goods for existing customer orders where a deposit has been paid may only be collected from the store if:
The customer has been advised by the store that the goods are in stock and have been reserved for customer collection; and
The deposit paid is not more than 5% of the purchase price; and
The full balance of the purchase price is paid.
At this stage we cannot deliver goods where customers have placed orders for home delivery.
At this stage we are unable give a refund on any outstanding customer orders.

    Grrrr..

My wife and I bought garden furniture online and paid by Visa Debit.

The consignment was shown as being out for delivery in an afternoon slot by XDP on 6th May.

It never arrived, and when I checked the tracker on the XDP website it was shown as "Return - Unwanted".

When I called XDP they told me it had been returned to Focus on the instructions of XDP Head Office.

Obviously this in 'unfair'- if it had been given a morning delivery slot, I'd probably have it today - but it it even legal ?

Very different from paid for goods not being supplied by a failing company, these order was fulfilled by Focus up to the pont that someone (the administrators ?) called back orders which had the potential to be fulfilled, being dispatched already.

Any advice - should I just be going after the adminstrators, same as a million others - or are XDP at fault at all ?

    cheers,
    Nick

oh what a shame for the staff. My local one has lovely staff ,clearly though, their tills ( antiquated doesn't get near explaining it) need updating - A refund has frequently taken me three quarters of an hour , and recently I got given back MORE than I had spent!! I had definitely seen this coming! Some of the battered stock on the shelves was clearly being cleared out,out of desperation.
