Always_searching wrote: »Well im back and as I said earlier I wont be gloating about being right. The employees and families already knew the situation. I know this because I am one of them. As it stands the press know as much if not more than the staff. You may think its odd that I posted it on here but as it was no where at all online I thought people on here would have looked online in places I couldnt find as you seem like a knowledgeable bunch. Im more than happy to let people know if/when there are closers/sales which I am confident there will be unfortunately many of. Hey everyone loves a bargain after all, at least I will get to pick the best of them .
I too am due to be lose my job very soon, so fingers crossed it works out for the best for both os us.:)0 -
I think alot of the stores will be bought and staff kept on - I can hear Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsburys and Asda battling it out for the prime sites already. A lot of people managed to keep their jobs when some Woolies stores were sold to the above so hopefully it will happen again.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

I hear THE RANGE are looking at some stores.
Just heard alot of stores have closed early tonight due to suppliers trying to take stock that has already been paid for. I fear a grim couple of days ahead but hey these things are sent to try us. I can vouch for the above. 6 weeks after store closure I walked back into the same store with a different ownerMortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Just read online that the stores are only guaranteed to be open for another 5 days:eek:Let's hope some buyers come forward to save some of the jobs. The Focus website stopped taking online orders and the company's statement was posted on the site. The chain has 178 stores and employs 3,919 people. A spokesman said the shops would remain open for another five days, after which E&Y will decide if they can continue as a going concern.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

It will become a liquidation sale if it goes into admin and a lot better than a sale. Look out for the bargains
Administration can still mean that the business will cease trading especially if nobody can be found to take it on and keep it trading.0 -
My local focus(swansea) had closing down sale approx 3months ago, everything was 50%-75% off. Luckily for staff they opened a no frill diy store in its place and kept the staff on. Hopefully this will happen to a few more nationwide. Thanks to op and original op as this was a great grabbit when it was closing here and nearly all stock was gone in a few hrs, so if anyone has one locally to them you really need to be quick.:)
