Are you sure?
It is 44% more expensive for me(Fix on line 8 to Fixed 5) using annual kWh.
The cheapest 'ordinary' tariff is Scot Power online save14 which is 23% more expensive0 -
I am the only person in the world that doesn't collect MrT's points either?
I don't want them Eon so don't price them into your tariffs. I don't want Nectar either come to that:)
Just out of interest compared my projected use with EDF (standing charge) and Eon no standing charge and low and behold in the summer EDF are £1.30 cheaper per week and £0.80 more expensive in winter and on electric EDF are £0.20 more expensive in winter (same summer) and that is for a fixed deal. So much for no standing charge.

Totally agree but politically I think something will have to be seen to be done. Methinks that is why they (suppliers) are making hay while they still can.;)"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

I have just moved from Fixonline8 to Fixed 5 and monthly payment has gone from £97 to £119.
I was also told Fixed 5 is not a tied tarriff, can leave anytime without penalty.0 -

Think it depends what you are comparing with.
Current EOn Base (EOB) is 26.46 (T1 Elec). FOL8 was at25.46 (5.3%less).
But then FOL8 was discounted by 17% to 20.8 which makes EOB 27% more expensive than this.
Fix 5 is 9% more than base 28.84 which in turn is 39% more than 20.8.
(DDR/Dual fuel discount excluded as the percentage is the same).

Just rang E.on again and they have said that my direct debits have gone down in May to £86.00 a month because we were in credit so working on that direct debit from the gas and electric usuage figures we have had a rise in price by 47%...... going to have to think about this one now???? How crafty really. There was no letter to say my direct debit had been reduced and also they did not mention it when I called to change. I had always been paying 101 a month so thought that a rise to £127 from that would be good. It was not a rise from £101 to £127.... it was from £86 to £127????0

Yep mine went down from 94 to 79 around the same time. They did send me a letter. Submitted a reading today and I am £70 in credit which I can't see me using up in the next 2 and a bit weeks."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... When I worked out the cost in April of my FOL7 to E.On's Price Protection April 2013, it involved a 42% increase on my annual cost (for the same kWh consumption). EDF's Fixed Saver 2 (to Sep 2012) involved a 31% increase. So I went to EDF.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
