After sleeping on it last night, i thought i would try again at getting the Price Protection 2014. After long conversation & a long hold with an advisor, it was eventually agreed ............ however my online account states that Price Protection April 2014 is due to end 2012 !!!.:mad:.
Another phone call & it was confirmed that it actually ends 2014 & the small print is incorrect and nobody can amend this. I have since had an email i requested supporting that it actually ends April 2014.
So, i'm now on Eon Price Protection 2014 ................... i think:o
Have just spoken to very polite and patient lady in the customer complaints department at Eon who said that a very strongly worded email has gone out saying that PP April 2014 has been withdrawn and cannot be offerd. It has been apparently been taken off the system and no-one can now offer it - not even billing, or her (she apparently has more access than billing).
Am now waiting for one of you lot to say "I just phoned up and got it"!!!!:cool:0 -
After looking into "E.on Fixed Price 5" I have noticed the following when reading
up about the Tesco Club Card vouchers that you can exchange into tokens that can be
used to make payments against your energy bills..
On their page it states the following:To redeem your points against your energy account exchange your Tesco Clubcard PointsOk so after reading that does it mean that you will only
for token codes on Tesco's website, which you can then redeem below.
Our new and unique offer makes your Clubcard points go further. You'll receive 50% more
for your Clubcard vouchers, so for every £10 of Clubcard vouchers, you’ll receive £15 of tokens
to use to pay your energy bills. *
* This is a limited offer and you must apply for a token code by 5 August 2011.
All tokens expire on 31 August 2011.
get the benifit of 50% more up until 5th August 2011?
And then after that you get the face value of the club
card vouchers (i.e. no extra 50%)
Or are they stopping people redeeming Club Card Vouchers
after that date?
It's a bit unclear to me (but I am half a sleep at the mo.)0 -
After spending all night talking over with my girlfriend
which supplier and deal to go for out of.EDF Fixed Saver v 2 (1year fixed)I decided to stay with E.on for the following reason;
E.on Fixed Price 5 (2 year fixed)
EDF Fixed Price 2014 (3 year fixed)No cancellation charges so I can look again next yearSo I was going to switchover today, but luckily saw an email
and if its cheaper with another supplier I can get out
without penalties. If not then I am ok for another year.
I had in reply to a question I had asked about if you could manage
the Fixed Price 5 on line, see below.
The part in RED my be interesting to the people who
have already switched to Fixed Price 5 from Fixed Online 8,
before the 1st of July !You can still manage your account online if you change your tariff to Fixed Price 5.
If you'd like to change to this, please do so online on 1 July when your current tariff ends.
This will ensure you benefit from the discounts you're currently getting.
can switch over from the Fixed Online 8 over to the
Fixed Price 5, before the 1st of July and they will still
keep the discounts for their last bill. So looks like they
may not get the discount if they have already switch to the
Fixed Price 5.
I think I am going to wait an switch over on the 1st July
just to be on the safe side.0 -

The risk you take, though, is that Fixed Price 5 will have been withdrawn and replaced by a more expensive Fixed Price 6 (or equivalent) by 1 July. I think there's a strong likelihood of that happening given the current state of the market.0 -

They wouldn't do that would they:rotfl:"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

How much would you care to bet on that?0 -

I just called them up and they said if I wanted to switch
over to the Fixed Price 5 product then I would need to
call them back and ask for them to "Forward date" the
start of the Fixed Price 5 to when my current Fixed Online 8
deal finishes (1 July).
I also got them to confirm my annual usage for gas and
elec. So I went back on the comparison sites to check
again and it did not change much.
So I called them back up to go ahead with the switch
and they close for business at 16:00 on a Saturday!!
(even tho the paperwork I got through the post says
they are open untill 18:00 on a Saturday)Just my luck!
I will have to give them a call on Monday
now and hope nothing changes by then!0 -

That all makes a great deal of sense. I'm sure you'll be OK, but I'd call them first thing Monday to be sure. You might even want to email them to be on the safe side, saying what you want them to do. I think FP5's days are limited, but if you've got something in writing I'm sure they'll honour it.0
