How crafty really. There was no letter to say my direct debit had been reduced and also they did not mention it when I called to change. I had always been paying 101 a month so thought that a rise to £127 from that would be good. It was not a rise from £101 to £127.... it was from £86 to £127????
That makes the point that it is no good using monthly Direct Debit amounts as a guide to the percentage increase as DD do not always reflect your annual consumption.
If they reduced your DD when going on Fix 5 it wouldn't make that tariff cheaper!!
The only way is to use annual kWh consumption and do your comparisons on those figures.
Whilst mine is 44% more to switch between those tariffs, it could vary slightly depending on where you live and how much gas and electricity you use.0 -

I must admit I forgot FOL8 was a fixed rate, back in March and increased my feeder payment by their increase and never bothered putting it back down, so mostly prepared too:rotfl:"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... I dont think the E.ON Price Protection April 2014 is that good.
My usage is
ELEC YEAR 11779 kilowatt-hours
GAS YEAR 27866 kilowatt-hours
If i switched to a normal one I would save £633, so im paying £633 to be locked into the locked to 2014
If i swithced to Unifi Capped Energy November 2013 NSC i would save £144 on the eon 2014 one.
now if I switched to EDF I would save £138 on the eon one.
should i cancel the switch over?
now when i check uswitch it says edf is £70 more then the eon one. why would that be?

Talk about confusing...
I'm on fixonline8. I have just switched (via beatthatquote - £35 cashback) to EDF's 2014 fix. Will take me from around £90 a month to £125. At least I don't have to worry about this for another 3 years.
I am considering calling EON and asking about this elusive 2014 fix they have been offering though...0 -
how accurate is the energyhelpline thingy? As apparently moving to fix5 is only going to cost me £142 (9%) more than FOL8, based on 12000 kwh gas, and 10000 kwh electricty
edit - Plus it apparently 2% cheaper for me to go on energyonline than stay on FOL8, that certainly doesnt seem right0 -

Methinks you are not looking at the right comparison.
Energyhelpline will recognise that FOL8 is ending and do your comparison against the default tariff that Eon will swap you to if you do nothing Eon online dual fuel.
If you look at the comparison details you have an option (top right) to use FOL8 to compare. Will be a lot more."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

After sleeping on it last night, i thought i would try again at getting the Price Protection 2014. After long conversation & a long hold with an advisor, it was eventually agreed ............ however my online account states that Price Protection April 2014 is due to end 2012 !!!.:mad:.
Another phone call & it was confirmed that it actually ends 2014 & the small print is incorrect and nobody can amend this. I have since had an email i requested supporting that it actually ends April 2014.
So, i'm now on Eon Price Protection 2014 ................... i think:o

After looking into "E.on Fixed Price 5" I have noticed the following when reading
up about the Tesco Club Card vouchers that you can exchange into tokens that can be
used to make payments against your energy bills..
On their page it states the following:To redeem your points against your energy account exchange your Tesco Clubcard PointsOk so after reading that does it mean that you will only
for token codes on Tesco's website, which you can then redeem below.
Our new and unique offer makes your Clubcard points go further. You'll receive 50% more
for your Clubcard vouchers, so for every £10 of Clubcard vouchers, you’ll receive £15 of tokens
to use to pay your energy bills. *
* This is a limited offer and you must apply for a token code by 5 August 2011.
All tokens expire on 31 August 2011.
get the benifit of 50% more up until 5th August 2011?
And then after that you get the face value of the club
card vouchers (i.e. no extra 50%)
Or are they stopping people redeeming Club Card Vouchers
after that date?
It's a bit unclear to me (but I am half a sleep at the mo.)0 -
Another one who is looking around. There are cheaper options out there but I don't want to change to another supplier if their service is rubbish and our bills get mucked up. Any suppliers to really avoid?0
