That makes EDF 11% cheaper (than FP5) until 9/12 so you could take a 20% hike (if you went EDF) post 9/12 and still be on par with FP5.

Don't forget if you switch dual fuel using money supermarket via MSE website link to EDF you could get £30 cash back too.

Just my thoughts for what they are worth.

I managed to find my Annual usage from when I was
Scottish Power, before I moved to E.on so I have
used those figures to search with. now I get:

EDF Energy Fixed S@ver V2 - Monthly Direct Debit

Good service ratings / low levels of complaints
Prices fixed until 30th September 2012
    Cancellation fees apply

    yearly spend = £1,150
    saving = £41 (3%)
    Your current deal costs around
£73.82 per month (which is correct to what I pay now on E.on)

This deal will cost you around
    £95.84 per month

So looks like a approx £22 extra a month I will need to find.
If I decided to go with EDF, when would I need to start
the switching process to aviod penalties from moving
    away from E.on?

    The rubbish continues:-

Talk to EON customer services this morning and agreed to take what was offered which was the plan which has been discontinued months ago which is Fixonline 9 gas 6.525 then 3.158 with discounts of 12% 5.742 and 2.779
    elec 21.294 then 10.112 with discounts 18.74 and 8.9

This exactly the same as fixed online 8 that many of us are on, its is fixed until June 2012 but the discount is dd 2% df 2% /8% on-line in total 12% and not the 26.4% getting in total presently on the tariff

ok its more and its only for a year
But everybody is talking that the prices are going to double
Personally do not believe this, i am not saying prices are not going to go up but there is enough oil production in the world and also shale gas is a big big new contender and its all about supply and demand.
Wages are not going up and the stock mkt rise is only due to low interest rates and cost cutting to make the balance sheet look better
So I will take what was originally offered and to Sparky who posted earlier, ok not fixing prices to 2014
But I always was in to "instant gratification", also EON did not quibbnle too much and was well aware of this thread and would think they have instructions to give us what was promised--- good luck eveyone

I called today and they offered me a tariff called Price Control. I've not seen that one mentioned on here.
    • My Annual FOL8 was £1145.88
    • Annual Price control £1410.00 + £264.12 (23%)

Price Control is 24 month capped with no cancellation fee and will start when my FIL8 ends.

I tried all the comparison sites and i could hardly see anything cheaper never mind fixed or capped.

That sounds interesting. Wonder if it's E.On's reaction to hordes of customers leaving? Too late for many, but might plug a leak.

  • Just spoken to Eon and have also setup the price protection plan but it only runs until May 2012. No cancellation fee and it will start when my Fix online 8 finishes this month.

Yet another tariff plucked out of the air by EON customer services ....can't believe that its real - suspect its another mistake which they are going to have to honour -otherwise why not show it on the online choices available when one logs in???? especially with so many looking for an out when FOL v8 ends.
Helena -where are you this morning???:(
