    Hi Guys,

I have been given a bit of info regarding the tariff's, hope this helps a bit.

E.ON withdrew its Price Protection products from sale a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the products were still live in our systems, and following ScottishPower’s price rise announcement, some of our advisors have been switching customers onto these products today.

We have now removed these products from our systems and are re-briefing our advisors. We apologise for any confusion caused and will allow any customers already signed up to Price Protection products today to stay on these products.

For other customers interested in price reassurance products, we currently offer Fixed Price 5 which fixes prices until 1 July 2013 and Age UK Price Protection April 2013.

Further details of these tariff's can been seen on the website, as you know I can't post details.

    Helena

I am absolutely horrified at this situation.

I called Eon at 10.55am and spoke with David who offered me this product- Capped until 2014. I excepted the new tariff and as far as I am concerned entered a verbal contract. He told me that he was transfering it there and then. he said this was the best product for me as based on my consumption was £50 better off than the fixed tarriff.

Approx 30 minutes ago after reading the comments on here I was concerned and so called back. The gentleman, without me saying anything, told me that the process to change to the "capped until 2014" tarriff had begun but not been completed- when i asked why he said he was unsure but again catagorically reassurred me that "there will be no problem and it WILL be changed over to the agreed tarriff and that he thought the reason he couldnt complete the change was because someone else had started it.

So Eon Representative can you shed any light on this as I am now waiting for someone to get back to me. I have been with Eon I believe since 2004 and I can honestly say that I will be cancelling my account immediately if I have been lied to and the verbally agreed tariff not put in place.

just an up date- i have called eon back and been on hold for 15 min. i am now being told as we speak that what Helena the eon rep has said quoted above is a LIE.

I am beyond furious and think Martin lewis should be brought into this as these people are approved reps being allowed to post online and I signed up today and they are not going to honour the agreement

    Confusing isn't the word eh...!

Managed to speak to Eon just now and they confirmed that earlier when I rang them I should not have been offered the 2014 Price Protection Plan (a capped plan apparently), however that they would honour it as they could see it was discussed with me on the system notes, so I am switching to that today. Looks like the debriefing the Eon rep mentioned earlier did happen quite quick. I have checked my online account and it is now instantly showing E.ON Price Protection April 2014 so it had better not change afterward as I am too stressed!

I feel like I only got it by the skin of my teeth, but with baby on the way I am happy to now stay with Eon on this basis.

I would recommend anyone with Eon push them on this tariff if you can, otherwise EDF Fixed Saver 2014 *seemed* the next best one.

So have now canceled my switch with Energy helpline, and submitted meter readings to Eon.

Life is to short for this kind of rubbish. I'm sticking with Fix5. If anyone has got better deal from eon than me today, then good luck to them.
EDF 2014 is not a big enough saving for me to risk losing the end term FOL8 discount.

However, EON (if your listening) - YOU REALLY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF in how today has developed and i hope somehow you are bought to task.:mad:

Forgot to check out MSE this time
But in my conversations to EON whom I have never really had to contact before, the customer service has been appalling
4 different tarriffs over 4 different conversations 2 of which another rep tells me later are no longer available
A complete waste of time, my excel sheet is getting longer and longer
These numptys do not deserve customers but the sad thing is we are all !!!!!s for price especially my self
With todays NP price increase seems lik a fixed rate is the way to go and BRITISH GAS WEBSAVER 12 coming uo on comparison checks

After reading everybody else's posts this just confirms the above of EON having a totally disorganised quotes team with offices over different parts of the country having people offering different packages which at other call centres have seemingly expired, its a shambles which has cost me personally hours of waisted time
Pull your finger out EON, offer the "moneysavingexpert rate" for we forum contributors

oh right so they will honour one customer and not the other. Looks like I will have to apply for my telephone calls under data protection act and then release them to the general public.

I am now seeking legal advice from Which Legal? as far as I am concerned both parties entered an oral contract and that contract should be honoured.

Funny-no Eon reps to be seen on here all of a sudden??

I was personally rung yesterday by a Mathew, who rang me offering me Eons best deal of fixonline 9, gavve me all the rates rang back to except it and some other numpty checks with their manager and says cannot give it to me as expired.
Bad news from every one it seems and then the savings would not outway the waist of time from EON'S INADEQUACY

After some pushing i got to speak to an irritated manager who "will not comment" at this time and would like to go away and investigate the matter. At no point in the 25 minute call did I recieve one apology.

People make mistakes, even companies do, thats fine- but dont go back on your word and not honour the agreements you have made with the customers today.

You wouldnt even receive this poor service from Argos-

MESSAGE TO EON- PULL THE OFFER-FINE- BUT HONOUR THE LOYAL CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE ALREADY AGREED THE TARIFF WITH AND SAVE SOME RESPECT.

If they will not abide by the promise Helena has publicly made on this forum then I do not see how Martin Lewis can allow them to continue to be a part of the MSE forum

I was offered the contract by David and further promised by Kevin and am now waiting for Rob the manager to call back. cant believe they are picking and chosing who they honour and to those that have been led to believe it will be honoure should wait until they see it on their account page as I have been offered and unoffered several times
