Hi guys,
So sorry for the delay in replying to the questions, been busy today
The main question is about the Price Protection April 2014, I can confirm that this is no longer for sale you can't change on to this tariff, it was removed from sale some time ago.
The Fixed Price 5 that we do now offer doesn't have a cancellation fee and prices are fixed until 1 July 2013.
To view details of the available tariffs to change to, you can look on your online account or the comparison sites, as most of you know I can't post details on the forum.
Helena“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

Hopefully EDF will be bombarded with people switching to their product, so the switch might take longer than the next four weeks.
If all goes to plan (big IF imo), still seems risky & hassle in an attempt to save circa £30 a year (heavy Energy users aside). Get it wrong or e-on get it wrong & you end up losing out. No tie in with the Fixed5 either0 -
If i chose the fix5 with eon, (moving across from eol8), and do it now, would i lose the discounts due at 1st july? If so i may as well wait for 3 weeks...0

I have had an email from E-on confirming they will honour discounts of FOL8 up to switch to Fix5. I would recommend doing the same if you choose to switch. I only switched early in case they withdraw the Fix50 -
I have just been offered these by Eon on the phone literally 5 mins ago:
Fix Online 9 (12 months rate)
Fix to 2014 (I prefer this one)
Seems that the fixed one to 2014 would be around £192 more per year than what we currently pay, so I am considering canceling my switch to EDF now.
Main reason is because with EDF they have a standing charge cost in their rates, which EON do not, which makes it hell for me to compare the 2 rates.
At least this way I wouldn't have to move, and wouldn't pay £30 cancelation.
Any thoughts on this?:):)

Sadly, all the good work e.on have done by way of customer service seems to have completely gone out of the window in the last few days - when it really matters to them in keeping customers.
I'm now with Scottish Power (almost) but if e.on hadn't ditched their 2014 fix quite recently I'd still be with them - and so, I suspect would a lot of other ex-customers.
An odd way to do business. Perhaps the Co Rep could feed back on that?0 -
Perhaps theres a better deal on the way.....and perhaps pigs might fly!!!0

I'm currently on SaveOnline3 which gives me
Electricity
Normal units up to 900 kWhs per year
18.5535 pence
Normal units
10.626 pence per kWh
Gas
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs per year
6.17085 pence
Normal units
2.68485 pence per kWh
Anyone advise if I should fix using the Fixed Price 5 option or just sit it out?0
