I'm currently on SaveOnline3 which gives me

    Electricity
Normal units up to 900 kWhs per year
    18.5535 pence

    Normal units
    10.626 pence per kWh

    Gas
Normal units up to 2680 kWhs per year
    6.17085 pence

    Normal units
    2.68485 pence per kWh

Anyone advise if I should fix using the Fixed Price 5 option or just sit it out?

Why not check it out on one of the comparison sites? :)

I was offered online 9 on the phone twice, when I went back to ask for it, within minutes it was gone.

    That was 7/10 days ago:mad:

I have just had a letter from EON telling me that on 01 July when fixonline 8 finishes they plan to switch me to E.On EnergyOnline.

    With this plan:

The 18.6% Online discount drops to 2% - so an increase of 16.6% on my total bill!

    Tier 1 electricity increases by 6.4% - Tier 2 by 13.5%

Tier 1 gas increases by 11.2% - Tier 2 shows no increase.

Also when the next 'catch up with Scottish power' increase comes - they will be a lot higher.

Here's a possible answer, based on what I've been told over the phone (which may or may not be accurate, of course):

"There is only one current e.on fixed price product available which runs to 2014, and that's the Age UK tariff - fixed to 1 April 2014. It's available only to customers over the age of 60"

Mind you, the person I spoke to had a load of misinformation about this being the only tariff available to 2014 from any energy provider (wrong) and had been given the wrong figures for the Scottish Power increase. So he was quite possibly wrong about the Age UK tariff too.

Why can't e.on train their staff to give out correct information? Surely it can't be that difficult?

Add to all that, of course, the general increase which they'll announce to follow SP's lead.

    Hi Guys,

I have been given a bit of info regarding the tariff's, hope this helps a bit.

E.ON withdrew its Price Protection products from sale a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the products were still live in our systems, and following ScottishPower’s price rise announcement, some of our advisors have been switching customers onto these products today.

We have now removed these products from our systems and are re-briefing our advisors. We apologise for any confusion caused and will allow any customers already signed up to Price Protection products today to stay on these products.

For other customers interested in price reassurance products, we currently offer Fixed Price 5 which fixes prices until 1 July 2013 and Age UK Price Protection April 2013.

Further details of these tariff's can been seen on the website, as you know I can't post details.

Price protection 5 would add over £400 to my annual bill (£1,855 compared with £1,447 on SaveOnline3) based on 24,000 kwh Gas and 7,155 kwh Elec.

    Nightmare.

I have just switched to the Save Online 6 tariff with E-on.

If you look at the unit rates of this and add the % rises that Scottish Power have recently announced, it will still be cheaper than Fix Priced 5.

Obviously E-ons price increases will differ slightly but I think you may be better of switching to their cheapest online tariff rather than the fixed one.
