Surely, this amount of mis-infomation being bandied about cant be right. Eon never mentioned anything about a capped 2014 to me0
-
currently on hold with Eon advisor who is finding out what other fixed or capped rates are being offered that are not on website.0
-
Ok ........ The Eon advisor returned after speaking with Eon Tariff team & is categoric that the longest fixed or capped rate available at the moment is Fixed 5 to July 2013.0

Capped is better than fixed - price can't rise above cap, but it can be below cap.
What really matters, of course, is the pricing.
No, it is capped to x% (I think 9%) above the standard pricing which of course can go up and down!! So essentially not a viable option
Also the advisor confirmed the 2014 capped deal does not appear on their standard screens and is only available to existing customers which is why it is not showing anywhere online or on the 'normal' screens the advisors see0 -
I h'm assuming people are aware that changing now from Eon FOL8 to EDF 2014 now will mean losing discount on final bill. This does not make the EDF 2014 quite as attractive.
Based on my annual kw/h useage (Gas - 11983 & Elec - 4416), the difference between EDF 2014 & EON Fixed 5 (July 2013) is about £30.00 a year (albeit EDF is 8mths longer fix). The discount i would lose by switching supplier is approx £75.00 ....... Just not worth it imo.0 -

Yes but as long as you keep submitting meter readings and generating bills in the next few weeks, you can maximise your current discount as the final bill will be a shorter period.
Hopefully EDF will be bombarded with people switching to their product, so the switch might take longer than the next four weeks.0 -
Why is everyone choosing Fixed 5 rather than SaveOnline 7 when SaveOnline 7 would be cheaper?0
