My thoughts exactly Doc N, so we talked about it again last night and decided to switch to that plan also, for peace of mind.
I have switched via the Energyhelpline this morning for the £15 cashback at least.
You mention it is to Winter 2014 but it's to March 2014 just to clarify.
In the interim, I guess in 10 days time on the 18th I will log into my Eon account and request a bill?
Hopefully they will all be so busy with the news prompting everyone to switch, that it will take them longer than 1st July and we will not be charged the £30 by Eon...:):)

I've fixed with EDF till 2014. (Yikes at the monthly increase!)
How often can I submit meter readings to E.ON to produce bills to maximise the discount on FOL8?
I assume nothing will happen for 12 days due to EDF's cooling off period, which will take me to 19th June anyway.0 -
Do EON have a retentions team or are they not really bothered if you swop suppliers?

Sparkle, I've also fixed with EDF today. Their website says the cooling off period is 12 days. http://www.edfenergy.com/products-services/for-your-home/customer-services/change-of_energy-supply-qa.shtml0 -

They don't seem at all bothered. They'll phone you before the switch goes through, but they can't offer you anything other than their standard range of tariffs.
Does seem a little bizarre - maybe there's a lesson for them to learn there, given how much it costs to regain a lost customer.0 -

Doubt it, they can only offer the tariffs they have currently.
It is a shame, I'm happy with E.ON, but their longest fix just isn't long enough for me. They are going to lose loads of customers.0 -

As soon as E.On know you are leaving, they will flag your account as "Closing" and you can no longer enter readings, see your old readings, or request bills, even by phone.
I'd get a bill request in before the 12 days is up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I am sure the rep said we can phone them, give them the meter readings and request a bill instead of doing it online.0 -
I rang up E.On and was offered Price Protection April 2014 which based on my usage is slightly cheaper than the long term EDF deal. I'm trying to find the prices quoted online but not having much luck as yet but I should be getting some information through the post.
I don't really want to leave E.On. I was with BG for 7 years prior and they made a complete mess of my account including de-energising my meter which meant my move to E.On last year was not simple. Since the switch I haven't had to call E.On once prior to today so I hope this tariff is as described on the phone.0
