e.on Fixonline 8 - question for e.on Company Representative on alternatives?

is it ok to switch now.. mine ends on the 1st july?0

I think there's a 10 day 'cooling off period' before a 'new' supplier will contact your existing one. So I think it's 'safe' from 21st June (that's my plan anyhow...)0

I too am on the Eon fixonline8 which finishes July 1st, having both gas and electric and pay by D/D.
As I am over 60 is it worth considering the Age UK plan or is it better to sit tight until later in the month to see if any new plans become available?
Like many board members I have been happy with Eon and don't fancy swopping to save a couple of quid per week, but if good savings are to be had by changing suppliers then definitely worth considering.

Use a comparison site such as uSwitch or Moneysupermarket to find the best price for your particular usage. The results should include the Age UK plans.
As to whether it's worth waiting, you'll find this fully discussed above.0 -

Hmm, i wonder if it's a 10 working day period, in which case effectively it's 2 normal weeks, and I could switch on the 15th...:):)

I switched to EDF and they gave a 12 day cooling off period, but it was 12 calendar days, so included a weekend.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Hmm, guess I will need to wait until 19th/20th then... what a pain... in the meantime the news is getting grimmer and grimmer with Scottish increasing their rates too...

Switch now - as a matter of urgency:
Scottish Power raises gas bills by 19%
Utility provider implements 'shocking' 19% rise in gas prices and 10% rise in electricity prices, as consumers are urged to switch and fix

I would have thought that the whole process would take at least 4 weeks to switch. I intend to switch tonight as my FOL v8 ends on 1st July. Initiating a switch does not mean my contract with Eon has ended. Even if Eon are contacted by my new supplier, and Eon withdraw website access, I won't be penalised with an early exit fee. The danger of waiting is that some of the fixed deals might be withdrawn.0

You may be right. I contacted EDF on 24/4 and my electricity went over to them on 16/5, followed by gas on 20/5. So E.On had me on their standard tariff from May 2 (FOL7 ended on May 1) until those dates.
I just wanted to be clear of my FOL7 tariff before anything was done. Of course there weren't impending increases in the news then as there are now.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
