I've had enough of all this. I've moved from FOL8 due to end July) to Fixed Price 5 this evening. Its a gamble whatever we do. Here's hoping Eon dont penalise me by witholding end of contract discounts owed on FOL8 .
I asked for a quote on Fixed Price 5 and Eon told it would be £363 per anum more. USwitch quote EDF Energy Fixed Saver 2 at £233.34 more, with £22.00 cashback from Quidco.
My Online Fixed Rate 8 finishes on 1 July. If I begin the switch now, would I be penalised? To Dare is To Do:beer:0 -

I tried it (just out of curiosity really) after my FOL7 had ended, but the switch had not taken place. They took my readings, but said I could not have a bill as my final bill would be the next one.
My discount on FOL7 was secure anyway as I had completed that and it has indeed appeared on my final bill.
My only issue with it is that they used estimated readings for May 2 which were slightly less than the readings I had submitted online on May 1, so I ended up paying for utilities I had used in FOL7 at their higher EnergyOnline rate that they automatically put me on. Only cost me about £6 extra, but I've emailed them anyway asking why they did that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I rang up E.On and was offered Price Protection April 2014 which based on my usage is slightly cheaper than the long term EDF deal. I'm trying to find the prices quoted online but not having much luck as yet but I should be getting some information through the post.
I don't really want to leave E.On. I was with BG for 7 years prior and they made a complete mess of my account including de-energising my meter which meant my move to E.On last year was not simple. Since the switch I haven't had to call E.On once prior to today so I hope this tariff is as described on the phone.
Price Protection 2014 isn't showing for me any more. Are you sure that it is actually available????0 -

They said it wasn't an online tariff so it won't show up on the 'Switch Your Product' page.0 -
Finally have committed to Eonfixprice 5. Staying with Eon, and actually cheaper than any other deal I could find.0

Forgot to check out MSE this time
But in my conversations to EON whom I have never really had to contact before, the customer service has been appalling
4 different tarriffs over 4 different conversations 2 of which another rep tells me later are no longer available
A complete waste of time, my excel sheet is getting longer and longer
These numptys do not deserve customers but the sad thing is we are all !!!!!s for price especially my self
With todays NP price increase seems lik a fixed rate is the way to go and BRITISH GAS WEBSAVER 12 coming uo on comparison checks
Leaving EON , IT TAKES 3-6 WEEKS TO SWITCH from EON AND THE LAST bill is without the online discount0 -

I'm also on FixOnline8 with eon.
I'm torn between EDF v2 (fixed till Sept '12) or EDF Fixed Saver 2014 (fixed till Marc '14).
The difference in payments for me over the course of next month to March 2014 would be approx £450 more on the 2014 fix as apposed to the September 2012 fix. I'm trying to work out whether this is worth the outlay.
To put it another way, v2 will cost me approx £114 a month and 2014 fix will cost be about £126 a month.
Anyone else gone for EDF's 2014 fix?0 -
Following my swith from FOL8 to Fixed5 yesterday, I have just spoken with E-on who said that as i switched to anotherf Eon tarrif, i will not lose any discount on FOL8.
