  • I to am having the same problem, i have had an ebay and paypal account for over 4yrs, i started selling at the end of april 11 and within a few days my account was limited. the reason for this was that they had tried to contact me but was unable to. So i followed all the request that they wanted, uploaded Photo ID, Proof of address and also verified my credit card details. i also uploaded all my receipts as proof of postage. Didnt here back from them for 2 weeks, in which time they was still letting me receive payments from buyers, Still didnt here from them so called them and they said that they sent me an email 3 days ago, which still i have not received and that they found me high risk and wanted to part ways, i had been selling for 2 weeks while they came to this conclusion and now are holding my funds for 180days i have over £1000 in this account, and they are holding it for no reason, i have had no charge backs or complaints.

I am sorry to hear it has happened to you too.
Did you have a paypal top up card or expecting a new access paypal card?
I am just wondering if this happening is something to do with that.
I still have no reasons for it but after another tel conversation I have been told my account is def closed for good. I am awaiting my credit report but doubt it has anything to do with that.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

You started selling at the end of April (no more than about 2 weeks ago) and you have £1000 in your PP account:eek:. I can see why ebay is suspicious

. There has to be something lurking to do with your address, have you done a credit search to see if anything untoward shows?

Has anyone else ever had access to your paypal account?

I have finally got a full copy of my credit report and there doesn't seem anything unusual on it. There also does not seem to be any searches done by paypal or anyone that may be connected to paypal. This makes the decision even more strange.
I have now just received a paypal access card so I have rung paypal and asked them if they are going to re instate my account. I am now awaiting an answer from management. I'm not too hopeful reading other peoples experiences, but thought it was worth a try.
Why say I am excessive high risk and then send me out a mastercard?

When you say 'a copy' - you do mean all 3 agencies don't you?

Think you will find Prepay Tech searched your CALL CREDIT file mid april. You must have passed though - as they sent you a card (or maybe they didn't care as they knew you couldn't get any money :-D ).

I got an equifax copy which was a bit carp and then I looked online at my Experian fully report. I never saw prepay Tech on either of them, but will check the experian online again.

They only search via CALL CREDIT.

Credit confidential are doing one month trial at moment (remember to cancel).

It will give you access to the call credit file.

I don't sell many coupons, mainly other little bits and pieces, always new.

That to me tells me you're a business whether or not you see yourself as one or not. Do you buy these items to sell on at a profit?

I have a private account which I set up a month ago. If I sold just one of my amateur radio transceivers, I would have more than £1000 in my PP account in a single transaction.

How come fraudsters can have their PP account closed, then have yet another one up and running within 3 hours?.

I wonder what the response would be if all those who had been unfairly cut-off by PP wrote to their MP to ask him/her to raise the issue in Parliament. Wonder what would happen if the Govt. were to use the Monopolies act to force feebay to accept other payment methods.
