If only that were true, but there are many more horror stories at paypalsucks.com and paypalwarning.com.
A lot of those stories on there though are from people who have absolutely no idea what they are doing and have virtually banned themselves. The case with the OP here appears to be different as they do not appear to have done anything wrong.
OP, I'm clutching at straws here, were you running a business account on ebay as you mention a lot more sales at Christmas?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. you must be reading my mind...
that's the message I was trying to convey, while being too early in the morning to write a proper post0 -

No I was/am a private seller. I just found christmas the best time for selling so did most of it then.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I wonder if it's because you sell only new stuff on a personal account? Maybe this is ebays way of getting rid of people who don't register as a business but are in their eyes as they are selling new items.0

A lot of people sell only new stuff on ebay and are not business sellers. Paypal is for other things than ebay though and I have used it to buy things other than on ebay as they seem to want people to do. An increasing amount of companies accept paypal now, a couple of who I have bought from using paypal. I even top up my voip phone via paypal or used to:(Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Have you ever done a chargeback through your credit card for something that you've bought through Paypal?
Just another thought, you haven't responded to any of the fake emails saying that you've topped up skype using your paypal account have you?
To close the account as you're a security risk I assumed that it would be because of stuff you're selling rather than buying.0 -

Again it seems unlikely that paypal would bother, but if you were selling new things and it was thought they were not your personal items then it might be that you were considered a risk as trying to hide being a trader. I can think of a few occasions where a private seller might have a handful of new items, but not on any real scale.
I'm the opposite though, I only sell used items and am a business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have just come off the phone with paypal and been told basically there is nothing I can do. When I complained about not being able to sell or buy on ebay I was told the only thing I can do is go to a competitor. I have been give an email address to complain to (complaint-response@paypal) but was told that basically it would be a waste of time as a decision has been made and reviewed and tough. The only reason they will give is that they have reviewed my account and deem it to be excessive high risk in that they think some time in the future I may go into a negative balance, despite 2 credit cards linked to it, both with over £1500 credit limits on them and now a bank account linked.
Basically it was like banging my head against a brick wall trying to find out how one person can just close my account out of the blue with no real or proper explanation why as far as I can see.
I think this is a warning to everyone to take your money out of paypal as soon as you can each time you sell something as they could close your account anytime as well no matter how much business you do with them or how well you keep you accounts in order.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
