Just a thought blue - did you log in while you were abroad?

Yes. I mentioned to paypal the first time I rang them I was aborad on holiday and was this anything to do with it and they said no. I did not log in to either paypal or ebay until my paypal account was limited though.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

That will almost certainly make it worse as now you look like you are attempting to get round the issue, as though you have something to hide.

You will probably be OK for while, but when it goes they seem to be able to latch on to the most inconvenient time possible to suspend an account.

Personally I would still be trying to track down why they think you are high risk, but more importantly do credit checks to make sure that there is nothing lurking against your name or address that is incorrect. I am always concerned that if one financial institution considers you high risk, then maybe there is a small possibility that others might see the same info and act accordingly.

Hi, I regularly check my credit on line with the 3 leading companies, because of the possible confusion with my sons credit history.
No problems there though...Personally I think PP ACT and Think they're god! and in some way in there own world they are...

As for setting up an account in wifey's name....It probably will look bad from their point of view..eventually..but I'm not doing anything wrong really and didn't in the first instance, at the moment I have nothing to lose.

Incidentally paypal don't show up on ANY of my credit references....

In your case just being associated with a potentially risky account is good enough for paypal to suspend you as well.

For the OP I would still like them to get to the bottom of this, the fact they do not know why this has happened must be extremely frustrating.

Blue, were you trying to buy a book from amazon with your dodgy paypal account? Had a customer blocked today as amazon could not verify their payment method... and thought it might be you...lol :p

No someone was trying to buy off me and found they couldn't as it had been limited the day before. I last used it a week before that to buy a new laptop screen off ebay. I haven't ever bought of amazon using paypal.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I think this would be worth having its own thread started, great info to have here.
