Love the update, I always love your updates :)

LHG for me it was my birthday, a few days after halloween :o:(

The guy sounds great for you though, looking forward to more updates.

Love the house stuff, although my place isnt getting as much work as yours (mine mostly decorative) it is such a great feeling to get it all done! New floor down yesterday and I love looking at how nice and neat it is without all the horrible gaps that were there before :)

For me it was.....Monday just gone :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It's all about that for me though as I CBA with the other stuff so that's the good bit as far as Im concerned. ALWAYS put yourself first and let him slot in as it were but great to hear you so happy XXX

  • well I'm feeling much better today after an early night and a straight through sleep! :j

I prioritised GHDs over sensible breakfast, and had mini jaffa cakes in the car instead :rotfl: but today, faking it was important. I look good so hopefully will feel fab later.

I have a crazy couple of weeks now until I go away (getting into a pattern now, and it's not good :() - all harp stuff at the weekends and it's just too much. A wedding fair tomorrow morning, wedding in the afternoon, teaching ALL DAY on Sunday. At work all week. Gig on Friday night, teaching at a workshop all weekend next weekend.

my first day off will be 8th October. Hoping to plan something nice and relaxing with possible new man if he is still being a Keen Ken (that's not his name mind). Otherwise I will be spending some time in the garden doing all the damp fixing bits then flopping on the sofa :)

somewhere in there there will be rehearsals with my singer and guitarist friends, teaching in the evenings, and hopefully a bit of time with possible new man (need to find him some initials but don't want to describe him as anything significant til I am a bit more sure!)

gulp....I am high on life but low on energy so am planning a supermarket run tonight for lots of nice healthy stuff :)

Glad you're getting some fun stuff (although "stuff" doesn't really do it justice, does it?) mixed in with the busyness. Enjoy the newness of it all. AND EAT PROPERLY.

  • thanks! I have eaten OK earlier in the week, just all gone a bit off the boil in between! I looked in my fridge yesterday, it looks very sorry for itself so need to get back into the habit of planning properly and looking after myself :)

I'm going to have a little think about layout of my lounge and music room, and also plan my wardrobe out a bit while I have my soapfest later. There will need to be a bit of investment with the wardrobe, but it's long overdue and extremely important. I have beautiful things to wear, but need to do some work pulling them together. And my daytime shoe options are ridiculously limited...

Money is all under control - I need to pay in some cash and work out how I am going to track and manage the additional funds from teaching, as it will all be cash for now. I'm thinking about another bank account - not necessarily a business account as such, but one I can use for harp stuff to keep it separate. Ideally I would like to have everything harp related coming in to that and then if I sort out a loan, it would all come out of there.
  • morning :) well I have had a minor melt down on the phone to my mum this morning and have (literally) cried off this morning - just can't face it. I'm not letting anyone down, just saving myself a very faffy and tiring morning.

So. I have feet up with Emmerdale repeat and will be doing some light pottering and maybe some Darcy (Bussell not Mr sadly!) this morning. I am exhausted. I was hoping to hang on til my holiday before I fell to bits but looks like it will happen before then if I'm not careful, there is a lot flying round my little head at the mo!

I need to head off about 12 for this afternoon's wedding but it's at a pub round the corner from my mum's so will get lunch and doggy cuddles before and tea and doggy cuddles after :D

It's nice to be at home for a few hours :)

It sounds like you are overtired and overwhelmed. Roll on your break. Hope the wedding goes OK. Enjoy the rest of your weekend - try not to think too hard.

  • indeed - overtired and under-resourced I think!

had a nice day in the end though - took it very steady this morning and enjoyed a couple of hours of flaking plus a fairly impressive stint of cleaning.

Just hoovering downstairs and cleaning the kitchen surfaces, taking the bins out and mopping the kitchen floor has made a colossal difference and it was lovely coming home to relative domestic bliss (compared to what it did look like - I am ashamed to say I hadn't hoovered since my parents' anniversary party  so there was still white Dalmatian fur on the doormat and blue cupcake icing on the carpet where mum's greyhound had stolen cupcakes and they had landed icing side down!)

The wedding was lovely, an older couple who were very happy about getting married - very emotional all round but in a nice way :) I only had to play for the ceremony and as it was so near to mum and dad's, mum came with me and we had a drink in the pub before I needed to start. It was fab to have some carrying help :) and great to see the dogs.

Mum's greyhound was particularly clingy and my heart skipped up to the sky when I opened Mum's front door and there she (the dog, not mum!) was standing in the hallway waiting to say hello and wagging her tail :) She wouldn't leave me alone today and it was much appreciated. She is a very pretty dog and boy does she know it :rotfl: and she is one for not letting you stop stroking her - she keeps nudging your hand to get you to keep going :D

I'm off to teach tomorrow, and I am annoyed as 2 people have cancelled. I understand why, but I am not sure how sustainable this teaching miles away is going to be :( So far it has taken a tremendous amount of time and energy getting things organised. I will try it for another couple of weekends and see how it goes

Might see new man tomorrow night if he hasn't been called out - if not it will be next week. Looking forward to it :) but trying to stay chilled out in case it goes down the pan!

Off to bed in a bit - almost finished Keef Richards and have enjoyed it. I have a book to take on holiday but tbh I'm not sure if it's a good idea given the weight limit on my hand luggage :rotfl: mind you it's a yoga holiday so won't need to take that much :D

    Hi Lionheart

Glad to hear you sounding a bit better today :)

Whenever I see your MSA name, I sing a little line in my head "this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine". It does make me smile, and yes I think I am nuts.

    Hugs, Satchmo x
