Man I'd LIVE at the beach if I was close enough. Sadly the land locked Midlands has no coast
Well done on your NSD, I don't consider a £1 donation to charity as part of the spend, it's not something that you spent to benefit you IYSWIM.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

morning all well yesterday wasnt that good i ended buying one bottle of coke and a bottle of lemonade  i did however pay for it with a ten pound gift card i got for doing surveys still failed my no spend day.
the only other possitive thing is i budgeted £10 last friday and have only spent £2.50 :j before i joined mse and new i had to start cutting down it is now 1 week later so the money i havnt spent is going in my tin towards ccs :j as i have another ten pound for this week i have also sorted all money out and put it in individual envelopes so im less tempted if i know its for a perticular thing.
well we had burgers, chips and onion rings for tea last night which oh cooked for me which was quite nice after a twelve hour shift which saved us some money normally we have chippy on good friday so saved some money there steak for tea tonight curticy of freezer which oh is going to cook for me as i have another long day at work but am trying to get as much o/t as possible to help pay my debts off.and i did another survey last night but only got put in a prize draw so hopefully it will lead to more only need another £1.50 and i will get another gift card and tommorow we are off to mother in laws for lamb dinner so will save some money not cooking, there coming to ours on monday were having pork but i got it reduced the other week and will be using patatos and veg i got in hamper and am going to make a apple crumble for pud also curticy of hamper so cheap tea.im still feeling possitive and have now got it in my head where ive been going wrong and its not that hard if you put your mind to it how you can save money it is however hard not to spend anything working in a supermarket will keep going with this and can only hope i get there one credit card at a time

Hi lemmings. Pleased everything is beginning to come together for you. Just take it one day at a time and dont beat yourself up if you fall off the wagon. It takes time to change but you are now going in the right direction. Lamb dinner sounds lush!
You are doing really well and should be proud of yourself. Keep going.0 -
Hi lemmings. Well done for recognising the problem and doing something about it. I've only read the first and last page of your thread, so I hope I'm not repeating what other posters have already said.
If you find it difficult not to spend at all, you could allow yourself a very small amount each day, in case you don't manage a NSD. If you don't need it you could save it in a jar for a special treat for you and OH.
Also, could you try to make friends where you live? I don't know what your interests are, but maybe there's a community group you could join. Around here there are ramblers, exercise classes, events at the library, friends of the local park, a local history group, and probably quite a few more. Most of these cost very little, if anything at all. Keep going - I'm sure you can do it.0 -
Sounds like its going well lemmings. it becomes fun and a challenge, I love NSD's,quite an achievement . I also like seeing my jam jar fill up with the money I would have spent............................................0

you could open another account and just tranfer what money you need for direct debits then have another account just for cash i have started working out what money i need for month ie gas, food, bills etc and withdrawing it on payday and putting it in envelopes then im less tempted to spend money because i know the money thats in bank is for bills etc and the money thats in envelopes is for a percific thingVSP#17 £2.34
