  • yes thanks that sounds good once my cupboards have started to empty i will try using that site does it get delivered to your door prob sounds silly but never used it before my supermarket is only smallish and cant always get what you want so we usually have to go to mr a's which is 30 miles away there is a co op about 15 miles away but wont shop there as find it too expensive so would proberbly save sum money if i did in online plus i havnt got the temptation to buy extra things if i do it online as i could write a list and just get what i need

Years ago in the early eighties, we got in to a lot of debt (relative to the time), and it culminated in letters from the bank to say we were overdrawn, credit card, gone over limit and really high electric bill all at the same time. I had to go and face the bank manager which was quite humiliating especially as I was crying. It was me whom had caused the problem and also I worked close to the bank so I was in their on my own.

He gave me a stern talking to and decided which of my bills 'he would pay' and which 'he wouldn't pay'. He would cover the electric but not the credit card for instance. He then allowed us a small amount for food. The rest had to pay off the overdraft as quickly as possible. It sounds draconian but was probably the best thing he could do.

I looked at what I was spending, £1 a day on canned drinks for work so £5 a week, £20plus a month depending on how many working days that month. This was before MSE and the demotivator. All those little things do add up.

You have great advise on here. And you have made a great start. Keep it up.
    God bless, Esther

Just thought of something else. Did you say you live near a beach? Pack a picnic for you and oh when you can get some time together and spend sometime together and just enjoy the surrundings. It should be q nice way to spend some time and no need to spend any money.

i know it sounds silly but once we we had both been on nights we finished at 6am one morning and instead of going home to bed we went and sat on the steps and watched the sun rise it was lovely i could of sat for hours watching the birds and the sea might have to do that again we sometimes go for a walk along prom and just sit and watch the world go by thats good if its a nice day and its not like we have to make a effort as we live right on top of it xx

Doesn't sound silly at all-it just illustrates that what's important are not what we buy but what's already around us. Stop spending and get happiness from stuff like this:j
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.

great news on your win.dig out the slow cooker and get yourself some soup made in it with some of your veggies. Its so cheap and easy to make and is a great filler-up.Plus what you don't eat with your vegies then see if you can freeze ,there very little you can't freeze Only today I cut up a pineapple that my DD had given me as she had a buy one, get one freem and I sliced it up and portioned it into four slice portiones and froze for eating at a later date I love pineapple but even I couldn't eat one in one go.

good morning all well am just getting ready for work i have made a sandwich am taking a fruit salad and a drink so i dont have to buy anything while im at work all money is going to be left at home and i only live 5 mins away so dont spend any money getting there or home i am going for nsd number 2 although we are having a fancy dress/non uniform day at work to help raise money for our charity of the year which we normally all make £1.00 donations so instead of taking the money out of my purse i am taking it out of my money box for me and oh so not sure if it counts as a no spend day?? but its for charity and i always try and give where possible but that is the only money i am planning to spend today
