lemmings...sounds like a reward for good behaviour to me.;) If fate gives you a hamper when you stop spending for a day perhaps you'll find how much more you'll be able to have when you are making focus financial decisions.0

Hi Lemming and well done on that NSD, you have every right to feel proud of yourself.
Congratulations on the win, very well deserved.
It might be worth investing in a slow cooker, then you can have a cooked meal for when you want to eat it and your OH might be able to have one to. You can also batch cook when you use it and freeze the left overs so you have your very own ready meals for when you can't be assed and your OH can have a supply to bung in the micro for his lunch or to take to work.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
NSDs are good.
A course might be nice, councils offer a wide range for different intersts. and they can be really cheap or free.
I want to learn welsh and or do quilting/sewing. You can find information on your councils websiteI have dyslexia, so get used to my spelling and grammarMortgage pay off date 11/2028. Target 12/2020 :rotfl:

i would love to do quilting or sewing but not sure if theres anything around here like that the nearest town is 30 miles away so is not cheap to get there and can be time consuming, but need to find a hobby i dont mind reading and baking when i have the time and i have got a stack of books from the library the otherday so i didnt have to buy any i also have a baking cupboard full of bits and bobs so when my cupboards start dwindling down am planning on baking instead of buying it from the shopVSP#17 £2.34

Don't apologise for asking, as you may have also read under my signature it says " the only stupid question is an unasked one." I menu plan and do an online shop through the http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/HomeA.aspx site so I can work out which is the cheapest shop for me each week, so I am not tempted to get anything I don't need. I don't do a strict menuplan. I have 7 meals which I just pick one to do on any given day. I usually have a couple for the slow cooker, a couple of half hour meals, one that is comfort food, a roast type thing. Most meals are usually chosen to take atvantage of each other ie: I'll do a chicken in the slow cooker for one day, then I will use some meat in a pie or risotto usually using the juice from the chicken in it as well. I save any other chicken off the joint in the freezer for a meal the next week. The carcass will go in the freezer until I have a couple and then I will make soup for DH to take to work.
I will always try and make more than I need to but try and keep the costs down. So I can freeze meals for weeks that are tight money wise or if it all goes pear shaped and I haven't got time to cook for the meal planned for various reasons so will grab my own home cooked ready meal out of the freezer and nuke it. DH will also grab them from the freezer and take them into work to eat. Saves a lot of money. If I miss a meal from my menu plan for any reason, I will still use it and hte next weeks plan will start a day later.
Doing this means I am not always in and out of the supermarkets buying one item for a meal and then seeing this, that and the other and coming out having spent £30 instead of £3. Though I understand it is hard when you actually work in a SM as well.
It took a few weeks to work out how much milk, cereal etc. we go through each week as well but now I fairly much have that sorted.
I also make my own bread, I luuurve my Panasonicand bake my own cakes and biscuits and flapjacks etc. As I have 2 who need gluten free this also saves a lot of money.
I am on the grocery challenge at the moment as I am trying to rein in my grocery spends as it had really started creeping up and up and this has concentrated my mind to bring it down.
Sorry for the ramble, hope some of that made sense and answered your question.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
