The bills can be e-mailed to: cashback@mobiles.co.uk
...
Having said that I agree that online submission has advantages (and disadvantages).

I'm just embarking on this wonderous journey with mobiles.co.uk

I sent the email with the pdf file attached for the correct month and was told immediately the format of the attached file was wrong and the claim was rejected.

I contacted them via their website (no record of that) to say the file was definitely PDF...no repsonse.

I resubmitted the bill in a new format (I have scanned the paper bill I downloaded and saved it as a jpeg, bitmap and tiff image so they could have their choice)...no repsonse or automated reply to say the attachment has been received/rejected.

Contacted them again (via website) to see if they received the bill and now waiting.

I will now only contact them by email from Live Mail so I have a record of the correspondence (is one way emailing a correspondene?)

I am tempted to just send a paper copy to the address for good measure but the request is to wait 28 days. This takes up a good portion of the 60 days allowed.

Should I just wait and let this run it's course for a few days before hitting the ALARM button? I was very wary of this deal as I entered it but I thought I'm approaching it eyes wide open so I should be ok.

Time will tell...

The on-line submission function often comes back saying a bill submitted is unreadable - even though they include it in the email and it's perfectly readable. Ignore what they say about waiting - that's to their advantage, not yours. Send an external email demanding they confirm safe receipt and acceptance of the claim since you submitted it correctly via their on-line function, in the correct format and including all the information required. Don't sit on your hands - something is wrong if you don't receive a series of positive emails in the first few days (two weeks for acceptance at most).

Not defending this lot at all. However, what do you use to create the .pdf file? Have you sent a .pdf file that you have created to someone else that can confirm that it is in the right format?

I say that because a couple of people I correspond with send me attachments that claim to be .pdf and I can't read them. Similar problems with some Excel files too - and that isn't a version problem.

Listen to mj's advice and do not wait till you are out of your submission window time. At the end of the day, balance the additional cost of recorded delivery on top against the hassle of MCOL or losing the claim.

I think any file that can be opened by Acrobat Reader can be deemed appropriate. What's the point in sending it to someone else to check?

However, without paper bills it is either a pdf or a screenshot. Pdf is obviously better.

They do not accept email claims - for online claiming rather than postal, the submission form has to be used. If email is sent with an attachment, it will go nowhere - they can turn around and say not received as no one monitors emails.

It actually saves me some time, money and hassle submitting using the online form rather than paper post. Only thing to remember is to do it very early and take screenshots of what you type into the submission form so there is proof you have not typed anything wrong.

However, you have a proof of what actually you have sent and an automatic confirmation that they received this:

When submitting online you you have no proof of what you have submitted.

Having said that, I don't have any personal experience with them. Yet.

Read my post again. I have experience of attachments not arriving in the format that the sender thought they were in, although they could read them.

However, later answers from Oneaday may be the reason, if accurate.

The email I sent was via the website. I have emailed them directly and requested acknowldegment of the submission.

I originally sent a PDF file (opened in Adobe) and subsequently as a jpeg (I can also provide tiff or bitmap if they want!)

Just silence so far, seems impossible to get any response at all apart from incorrect documents.
