Silk - have you ever claimed cashback from mobiles ?

I have made two claims in last two weeks using the online submission, first for myself and cheque arrived within 14 days of me submitting the bill online.

Second for a relative, submitted claim yesterday online, emails today and its been paid and cheque on its way.

If it was a case of doing without a phone or dealing with mobiles.co.uk ...I would do without a phone.

It's great that you have got away with it so far however as you have read both on here and elsewhere there are lots who don't get away with it ...hence the title of this thread as an example

That is not answering the question - have you ever made a cashback claim from mobiles co?

If not I do not understand your assertion that things will be worse with mobiles co than with e2save - other than the fact that I know you had a problem with an order ages ago which caused you grief in canceling / returning the phone. And since then you have an anti mobiles co agenda on here.

You know very well that I haven't made a cashback claim with them nor would I for obvious reasons since they were the company from hell to deal with ;)
Whether or not I have made a cashback deal with them has very little to do with it as having witnessed enough of the problems related with them on here and the net is enough to ensure I would not take the risk.

You are also correct that ever since my dealings with them I have kept a very close eye on the situations with them both on here and on the net and like most other members who have knowledge in certain area's I pass that knowledge and help on to others.

Pro rata it seems that e2save have less negative posts on the net compare to mobiles.co.uk IMO and given that the problems seem to be with the ethos of the company mobiles.co.uk one would assume that although it may be best of a bad bunch e2save would be a safer bet .......and lets be honest about this any phone company doesn't have to try hard to be better than mobiles.co.uk do they ;)

I use both. E2Save is better at present - but the qualification is important and I would never trust either. I never use recorded delivery and rarely use post - though Mobiles.co has had that benefit recently with my LBAs!

Maybe I'll get to meet "Ben" in person in due course!

    Just an update...

I chased mobiles.co.uk by email asking for a response to my online submission. I was asked to resupply some details, including a transaction code (only to be found on original order paperwork). I then received an email to say the payment has been approved and I will receive a cheque within 28days.

Quite a hassle considering I was careful to get the online submission right in the first place. It will be interesting to see if I've been flagged for being a tenacious bu**er on the next cashback submission in 2months.

Screenshots all the way or submit by post on the next one?

Thanks for the advice on this forum.

You may find that will change when you use mobiles.co.uk :rotfl:

Stick to the post and make sure it's recorded ;)

Don't worry - I will be sticking to post!!!

There were loads of scare stories about e2save on here before I bought my original contract and I found them excellent, so I'm not ready to ditch mobiles.co.uk just based on what I read on here. I am aware of a couple of friends who have had no trouble claiming from them.

I just think you need to keep your wits about you and keep on top of when you need to claim, what you need to send in and when. And be aware of the progress of it at all times until you receive a cheque!!

That's all very well if you don't hit a wall of silence. You can send in the correct bill in the correct format - you're then told it's the wrong format and then no response at all.

For some it's apparently seamless but I do sense delaying tactics to test the resilience of claimants until direct emails specifically requesting acknowledgments are sent.

To answer your other question, if you have been flagged it's more likely it's because they know you won't be messed around. However, cpw companies do work with a "logic" which often defies belief. You have learned that when things work there's no problem - but when they don't it's a mistake to make assumptions and listen to what they say. Take action and then you can't be stuffed; wait and hope and you can be. All well established with cpw - but a lesson many still haven't (thus far) needed to learn.

Is the correct format .pdf ? I have an Orange account and will start claiming from mobiles.co.uk this weekend, the Orange website allows direct download of the bill in .pdf and I was going to save to my computer and then attach during the online claimback. Is this correct ?

PDF is def. a correct format that they accept so would have been ok.
