hello Beechville
We had a business account (current account) with the Northern Bank and I have found that they added a maintenance fee every quarter on a list showing their charges for that time.
I take it you are from Northern Ireland?
Do you advise us to claim this amount too even though its not a personnal account?
Kind regards

Folks,
I got all the statements through from HBOS and understand about the Excess overdrawn fees at 20 quid a pop. I will claim them back plus interest.
But my question relates to the £8.50 "account maintenance charge" That they applied every month that I was overdrawn and only when I was overdrawn. (This was a lot as I was a student at the time! )
If I read this thread correctly, you guys are saying I can't claim this back. Why not? Surely these are the same as excess overdraft charges?
I mean every month I received a letter from HBOS charging me £8.50. Now surely that letter did not cost them £8.50 to send? Surely this is the same as the original case, ie how can the bank justify this £8.50 charge?
Has anyone claimed these £8.50 a pop letters back? Or should I just stick to claiming the excess overdrawn letters?
Any advice appreciated as I'm trying to work out the charges and letter to them just now.
Cheers

Could someone please tell me can I claim for charges made for "clearing a Diect Debit whist overdrawn" as well as for upaid direct debits.
I have requested statements from Abbey and have so far received those for the last year, rest are to be forwarded shortly.

yes to stuartjacks(referral fee maybe), dagrat answered on other site but for clarity, the £40 is £12 Advantage Gold Fee and £28 Unarranged borrowing, second bit is interest, donaldtramp- is it a service fee for additional service or just for going over an overdraft, it the latter then it is claimable. Smashedboobo not sure on that one but does it say cheque holding fee? I would merely query this with the bank so they can explain what exactly the fee is and then post on here.0

please feel free to pm me with any help as im getting desperate to know what i can get back off them0 -
you can claim back any charge that is a pealty rather than a charge for a service providing the penalty cost doesnt reflect the true cost it cost Cap 1 to administer.
So late payment fees = yes
overlimit fees = yes0 -
Hi there everyone, Im a newbie here, I wondered if I was able to reclaim "legal fees" that a debt collecting company has added to my debts, even though there has been no legal action?
I would really like to persue this but have no idea of whether I have a leg to stand on, my debts keep getting passedf from debt collector to debt collector for no apparent reason and each time they have added anything from £200 to £400 on.
Does anyone have any advice please?
thanks

I have just increased my overdraft becuase HSBC are going to fleece me for fees in January. They said they charge a £25 review fee to review my account. I spoke to woman for 60 seconds, she said yes and that was it!!
Can I claim that back ?
thanks0 -
Can I reclaim charges that have been made by a debt collecting company? For example my debt has been passed from company to company and when it was with Wescot they added £200 legal fees to it even though nothing legal ever happened to be charged that?? I had been making regular payments through payplan, this has also happened with my overdraft that was with Natwest and keeps getting passed about and the debt company has added about £400 worth of charges altogether, any advice would be greatly appreciated as I dont know where I stand in not paying them as they keep getting passed around so many times!! Once its been added on and pased to another company can i still refuse to pay it?
are these unfair charges?0 -
sorry i posted twice i was getting a bit confused! lol0
