  • Please could someone tell me if I can claim back a charge called 'Referral Charge'?

    Many Thanks:confused:
  • Please see the above link for what can be claimed.
  • Hi,

Ive recently started the process of reclaiming my bank charges from the past 6 years from HSBC. They sent me the statements I requested, however Im having trouble understanding what I can claim for. The main thing being, can I claim for overdraft interest charges? This was an arranged overdraft, yet I have been charged from a couple of pounds through to nearly £30 (I think this is a percentage of the amount Im overdrawn). Help Im confused!

Can I claim these charges or are they what I accepted when taking on the overdraft?!

    Thanks!:o

No, you can't claim this back. This is the interest on the money you've basically borrowed from the bank as part of your agreed overdraft.

My initial thought is yes, but can you confirm how much it is for and if you can see it relates to anything on your statement?
  • The amount varies from £20 - £90 and all it states is that it is a referal charge for the previous month

    Many Thanks

Can I claim back "overdraft interest" or is that a legitimate charge?

    You can't claim that back.
