I am now at the 2nd stage of reclaiming my bank charges. Today i received my 6 years worth of statements to which i am now sifting through to check what charges i can claim for. However some charges are abbreviated such as DD and S/O are there any other abbreviated type charges?
Also, should i make a copy of all the pages of statements that i have been charged on and send those with my claim letter?
Oh forgot to ask also, can you charge for the interest banks put on top of the unarranged borrowing fees?
Thankyou.

My Oh got some of his statements back this am, still two years missing so assume they will be sent seperately. However on a quick trawl through we have come across the above 'account maintenance fee'. It seems to be a charge if you exceed overdraft limit at £15 a month. Can this be claimed for as well? Had a look through lots of posts and cannot see any reference to this previously Appreciate any assistance. The victims we know so well

Hi, I am waiting for a list of my last six years penalties to arrive. When it does and I claim the money back from NATWEST, can I claim the high overdraft interest rates back? On my statements it reads, for example, CHG £38 and then INT £38.88 . This is a typical interest charge for me on my £2000 overdraft. I have found some template letters ask you to state all penalty charges and then all overdraft interest charges and then a total to be claimed back. Other sites seem to say interest charges cannot be claimed back. So should I list these high interest charges when claiming my money back? I hope someone can help, many thanks!0

Hiya,
I hope that somebody out there can help, I plan to reclaim my charges from RBS. They have actually sent me 8 years worth of statements, I have put the 2 years that I am unable to claim away and gone through those claimable, I have mostly been overdrawn and incurred both 'charges' and 'referral charges' and also interest for going overdrawn, both on authorised and unauthorised overdrafts and don't know about the interest.
I am actually quite thick and hadnt realised that I was being charged, I thought I was gaining the interest..........Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -
Susie you need to sift through all your statements and look for charges you have incurred. Thats what i am doing.0

You can't claim back the overdraft interest for normal spending. Please read post 4 in the Reclaim Help Thread, link in signature, for what you can claim.
If you don't understand the abbreviations in your statements please phone your bank and ask them.0 -
oh and please read Martin's article and listen to the audio file within it to understand what the interest is that you can claim.0

I'm putting together a schedule of charges (Alliance & Leicester) from the last 6 years of statements for a relative. Should I include Monthly OD Charges and Unauthorised OD Charges? If it's not likely they'll refund these, is it worth trying for one or both of them as they amount to a considerable amount?
I'm presuming I should include Failed Direct Debit Charges/Failed Cheques, etc.
Many thanks for any help.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
