Hello all
I won against MBNA so i have started on Monument looking through my statements and i noticed that when i was in credit (but funds in just before holiday) they charged me cash interest and took money off me for being in credit this them
so how can i claim it back and at what rate?
16/12/04
£193.18CR cash interest at 1.999% £3.17 taken from account =£190.01
16/07/05
£30.00CR cash interest at 1.999% 2p taken from account = £29.98
16/12/05
£51.73CR cash interest at 1.999% £4.57 taken from account = £47.16
I was thinking along the lines of the amount taken x the amount of days they have had the money to date without interest?
Any advice would be great i cannot work this out on my own (a bit dense with maths) it look's like alot of money to me but i'm not sure of the way to claim
Cheers in advance

Hi pol!
I think you probably could claim this back, yes. I'm by no means an expert but I'm a member of the consumeractiongroup.com - they're all really helpful and EVERYONE there is claiming or has claimed back charges. I've won over £7000 back from the banks through using their methods and getting help from them. Well worth a vist

No, you can't claim the interest.0 -

As regards the above I've no idea from what you are saying regards credit and interest so phone them up and ask to make sure.0 -

Hi All,
I've had my charges back form the co-op with £1586.50 fees I'm going after. There's £1242 of commission, can I go after this as well? Could someone tell me what the commission is.
Thanks in advance, Ry0 -

Phone your bank and ask them what they mean by commission, different banks have different terms so its best to check.0 -
If the monthly account charge is a charge for having that particular account you can't claim that back, phone your bank and ask them if you are unsure.sidblock wrote:I have an account charge which I pay each month of £10.00. You can't claim back the normal interest you pay for going overdrawn.

Hi Edinburghlass, thanks for that. I've just phoned the bank and they don't know what the different commission amounts are for lol. They want another £5 (and 40 days) to send me the breakdown. I used your template letter and pointed out I'd asked for 'a fully comprehensive list' and the 40 days started from when I sent the original letter. She apologised and said she'd get it in the post ASAP. Thanks again for all your help.0
