I am just sorting out a claim for my bf - he has all of his statements and I have found charges totalling £933. I know we cannot claim for interest on his agreed overdraft, but I am confused whether we can claim for the additional interest charged on the unauthorised overdraft, where the interest charge is 16.49% for the agreed part and 29.5% for the unauthorised part? From my reading on the CAG site, it seems to suggest that the difference should be charged - please could someone clarify? Thank you in advance.0

May seem like a silly question and I know the title says it all but can this be extended to Credit Card companies too or is limited to banks only?

hiya,
I got my statement of bank charges back and it is very unclear. There are 3x categories:
1) commission
2) debit interest
3) fees
There are no sub descriptions. Can anyone who has claimed from the Co-Op let me know what these actually mean, and which ones I am entitled to claim back..eg, Am I entitled to claim for ALL the commission + Fees etc?
many thanks,

Hi guys
on my statements I have quite a few that say: Paid Referral 1 @ £25.00
Can I claim that? Hope so!
Also, I have 1 case where is says: Unpaid Cheque (its for £71.50). Can I claim that? Not sure what that means. Got the UNP letters by it

If you are uncertain at all, phone your bank and check the terms they use.
For instance an unpaid cheque for £71.50 sounds to me like that is the cheque they actually returned.0 -
It seems with my son's account that Abbey constantly present payments when there is no money there to pay it and then charge a fee just for presentation. Am I right here, they are not actually using their money to pay are they?
Am I right in thinking that whether a direct debit for instance is for say £20 or £100 the fee doesn't alter, because they don't pay it.
He was paying me back £20 a month on a standing order for some money I lent him. I noticed December and January I didn't receive the payment (this is when all this came to light). They charged him £30 for no money to pay but I never got paid my £20.

When compiling my list of charges to reclaim from my bank account, do I count the charges on my statement labelled 'interest' as well as just charges?
Sorry for the newbie questions
I hope to be of some use to people on this forum in time to come! 0 -

You can't claim for interest that they have charged you for authorised borrowing.0
