Hi,thanks for your reply,I have contacted Customer Support,in India,I have done EVERYTHING they ask,re-set the router, checked my login info is correct, checked all the router settings,I have changed the microfilter 3 times in case, replaced all the cables, tried a different router, used it with only the router attached,NOTHING fixes it,it is SO slow!!!!!It is almost useless,I have done the BT noise test, the line is quiet,it is just that my connection seems to be coming from anywhere in the UK!!!When I was with o2,it clearly showed me as in Slough, today I am connected via Exeter!!!!!What is going on with this awful connection!!!??????Up until middle of April it was just over 2mb,then it just died.:mad::mad:

If you have been moved onto the WBC network, your line may be capped.

    Hi davmail

What results are you getting from speedtest.net? Are you still receiving less than 1mb?

If you are still experiencing slow speeds, I'd advise to contact Customer Support so that they can look into this for you further. Alternatively, if you contact us using the information on our Profile page, I'd be happy to make some enquiries for you myself.

    I hope we can help.

Am having same problem - been with them for almost a year, and on the whole, speed wasn't a problem. Then about a month ago it seemed to slow abit, but it was intermittent and I just waited.... But for the past week, its been really unreliable. Right now its ok, but later at night it slows so much I can't use it at all - the connection basically drops. I have contacted them and am waiting for their reply. If this goes on, I can't see its worth staying with them - especially when I have other on going customer service issues with them! Some of the comparison sites (linked from MSE) do show that customer satisfaction with Orange can be easily beaten by other providers!

Slow speeds in the evenings are usually an indication of contention issues, especially if it's OK at other times. Time to switch to another provider, preferably an LLU one.

Well you've answered your own question - what have you got to lose from moving from a service that you know sucks. I wouldn't take orange broadband in a million years after my nightmare experience with them.

Because I am stuck in a contract now, will cost me a fortune to get out of it,BT are no good, they cut my old phone line off for 5 days!!!I went for Virgin Fibre optic, signed the deal waited the 4 weeks for them to come and install it,the guy came, said he could not install it,I would have to wait another 5 weeks, all this time I had NO broadband,Orange set me up quickly, but, their broadband is absolute rubbish.I am in a 'dead end' situation. What can I do???????:(:(:(:(

    Sorry to hear your problems,

If you've not had cable before or the drop cable is damaged, then it has to be done by a two man crew, due to H&S issues as well as other things,a one man crew can't install a drop cable.
So what I imagine has happened, because when VM took over, they got rid of all the in-house installers as well as most of us service tech's & went to the contractors. The contractors in turn binned most of their two man crews & construction crews so the long wait is probably the next available slot for a two man crew.

Yes,you hit the nail right on the head!!!I told them I had not had cable before,my house would need cabling up,no problem they said,we will send a 2 man crew,at 4:30pm a Virgin van pulled up,the guy sat in the van for 30 minutes playing with his mobile phone,he came to my door, shook his head and said he can't do it,needs a 2 man crew!!I knew this,Virgin knew this, utter waste of my time, and, as I say left me without broadband!!WHY oh WHY can't these profit making companies do their job????What ever happened to customer service,as in the UK's telecoms business, it's DEAD.:(Richard Branson should be high profile in sorting his useless company out.I wrote to Virgin Media, but never even had a reply, brilliant.Orange don't care either, someone from Orange said they would call me back after I had spent hours on the phone, did they? NO.
