Very slow orange broadband.

You are not going to go any faster unless your noise margin can be increased. Most routers sync with the margin around 6-7db, the figure is inversely proportional to sync speed.
Have you tried using the test socket, and a quiet line test? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

No,I have not,do not have a keypad phone to plug in,but will get one and try that.Thanks again.Kawasaki z750 Rider!0 -
I did the 'quiet' test, all ok,my Orange broadband speed is SO slow, today it took me 5 mins to download 6mb!!!!
When I test my speed connection with Speedtest.net it has me at different locations, one day I am in Exeter, the next day in Truro, then in Aldershot, then in the midlands!!!!Why is this when I am in Slough????Could this be the cause of my problems that my Orange internet connection is routing me all over the country????:eek:Kawasaki z750 Rider!0 -
No, it's just the server that Speedtest is selecting-it's not relevant to your problem. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi davmail
What results are you getting from speedtest.net? Are you still receiving less than 1mb?
If you are still experiencing slow speeds, I'd advise to contact Customer Support so that they can look into this for you further. Alternatively, if you contact us using the information on our Profile page, I'd be happy to make some enquiries for you myself.
I hope we can help.

My Orange broadband had been working fine since I signed up in September but then a month ago I got an email saying they were going to upgrade the line and that I'd be moved to a new network. Since then my connection has been awfully slow. So slow that it even takes a long time to open standard webpages such as facebook whilst streaming video is impossible. Speed tests are now coming out at less than 0.5MB/s.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get out of an 18 month contract early if the service is of consistently poor quality. I know they advertise speeds of 'up to' but this is a very long way short of an appropriate landline connection close to a telephone exchange.

Have you called Orange?..You've been moved over onto the ADSL2+ WBC network. Also are you using a Orange supplied router or a third party one? And if it's the latter, what make is it?0 -

Hi,thanks for your reply,I have contacted Customer Support,in India,I have done EVERYTHING they ask,re-set the router, checked my login info is correct, checked all the router settings,I have changed the microfilter 3 times in case, replaced all the cables, tried a different router, used it with only the router attached,NOTHING fixes it,it is SO slow!!!!!It is almost useless,I have done the BT noise test, the line is quiet,it is just that my connection seems to be coming from anywhere in the UK!!!When I was with o2,it clearly showed me as in Slough, today I am connected via Exeter!!!!!What is going on with this awful connection!!!??????Up until middle of April it was just over 2mb,then it just died.:mad::mad:Kawasaki z750 Rider!0 -
